Wednesday Perspectives

  • Condolences to the Rockies organization on the death of their president, Keli McGregor, at the age of 48. Rockies' president mourned, beloved (MLB.com)
  • Dodger fans in the U.S. aren't the only ones frustrated right now. Our friend Brazilian Dodger Fan has a blog, Dodgers Brasil.
  • When can you blow off deadlines, show up late, and still be welcomed with open arms? When you're Ronald Belisario. From @dylanohernandez:
Jon Link optioned; Torre said Belisario will be activated tomorrow.

So Link is going back down for what reason, exactly? Does the fact that he's thrown scoreless innings make the rest of the 'pen feel inadequate?

Josh S. said...

It's because he wears glasses and Torre was an Alpha Beta.

Dear Ronald B.

Please hold on to your visa, please timely respond to USCIS when they send a friendly letter, please don't drink and drive and please don't take any pitching tips from that Ortiz guy.

Yours Bluely
Paul

I think if Belisario is anything less than Cy Young, a lot of people are going to be pissed.

@josh

I don't know, the bullpen bar isn't set all that high right now.

Paul said...

Where have you gone Joseph Ronald Beimel?

Did someone say bar?

Memories of Kevin Malone has a nice post about Billingsley's struggles, and suggests (with g.if-evidence) that much of it is due to his mechanics, as well as pitch selection.

Thanks Mr. F

I am sure the Dodgers worked with Bills in the Spring on things since he was so horrific at the end of last season.

So I don't think his mechanics/head issues have an easy remedy but I sure hope they do.

@MR F - Maybe Billingsley and Sherrill spent too much quality time together in the offseason.
