Scoreboard Watching: April 12 NL West Games

Since we're looking up at (almost) everyone, we might as well see what's going on in the rest of the NL West on this off-day...

It's the top of the 6th and the Padres are up on the Braves 14-1, which includes a 10-run 4th inning. Wow.

Meanwhile, the Pirates' Brian Burres takes on Barry Zito and his amazing 0.00 ERA (1-0, 5 Ks). First pitch 7.15p.

I'm OK with the Pods using up a season's worth of runs in one night.

I'm about ready for us to have a just-beat-the-ever-lovin-shit-out-of-our-opponent kind of game very soon.

Dusty

let's just hope for a series win over zona and save the beat down for the weekend.

Just like opening day last year!

SD 17, ATL 2, bottom 8 with none out

Why the hell couldn't we have faced Brian Burres last week?

This thread is near dead; why of why did I get a conflicting edit monster shooting fire at me?

Commies go ahead.

Frisco up 3-0 already. Damn.

Must be all the people clicking on the Jackie Johnson video.

MLB Network switched over for a look-in at Jints game. Crowd shot showed some Jints fan with one of those helmet dual drink dispenser thingies. I swear each side was filled with sauvignon blanc.

We are really going to have to stick it to the gints this weekend to make up ground. We only have 156 games left!!

As long as we take the Jints to school, we can take pleasure in our first two weeks.

The candy corns are really putting me in a bad mood. I am already hearing them as the "first place ...."

Steve Sax said...

Giants are still up on the Bucs

Paul said...

Pretty slow in here. Everyone must be watching the clippers.

Kyle Baker said...

Just a few minutes ago we saw Jints playing, and noted their leggings were particularly candy corn looking tonight.

Paul said...

Great minds Dusty

or drunk minds.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Padres don't shoot Blanks in record-breaking 'W'

I'm sure there was a better headline available.

Also, a tweet from @LAClippers:

End of 3rd: Clips 69, @dallasmavs 99. Kaman 15 pts 5 rbs @deandrejordan 10 pts 10 rbs. Blake w/ 7 pts 9 ast. Catch the rest on PRIME TICKET

I don't know what's sadder. The fact that they're losing by 30 after 3 or that their twitter-rep is still imploring people to watch the game.

Two on no outs for the Bucs. Molina to the mound asking if he can eat Zito.

Paul said...

I just saw a Dodger fan in right field at Phone Park and it wasn't me!

NicJ said...

watching the Reds beat the fish in extras makes me sad/angry.

Sadangry?

Pittsburgh trying to rally...c'mon!

Unknown said...

Goddamn.

Paul said...

Sergio Romo's break was nasty tonight.

The Giants must be excited if they get the win tonight because we know the Bucs are a GREAT team.

What kind of world is this? The Giants having a kick-ass season while the Dodgers flounder?

Josh S. said...

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

2010 Giants = 2009 Padres

Remember how the Pods wouldn't cough up first place in April last year?

Josh S. said...

Actually, I'VE said it before.

(And I just figured out how I keep accidentally logging in with my S-less Josh account.)

Paul said...

Sandoval might be the only player who you can say "hits his weight" and it is a compliment.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

We can at least take pride in the fact that we have the league leader in OBP (Martin) and the co-league leader in ERA (Kuroda).

Paul said...

I wasn't sure if Josh was stealing Josh S.'s line.

Paul said...

Giants up 9-3. blah

But like the Joshes said they are the Padres of 2009.

NicJ said...

we are also tied for second to last in HR's with the Mariners.

Steve Sax said...

Wow, SF is 6-1 on the season

Paul said...

Good starts can mean a lot (1988 Dodgers) or not so much (2005 Dodgers).

NicJ said...

dont forget the 2009 dodgers.

"we are also tied for second to last in HR's with the Mariners."

Woo hoo! Tied for second! In your face!
