Via ESPN the Magazine (the latest, Jimmy Clausen-covered issue; no link) there was a neat Page 2 collage of sports-based artwork, which included this piece from Adam Lieb:
WALL WORKER Adam Lieb found his calling one summer in high school when, after being told by his parents to do something productive, he painted a mural of Dodger Stadium on his brother's bedroom wall. Now the 32-year-old Chicago-based artists stays busy creating ballpark-scapes for companies and individuals. "I start each stadium at the third base line, then repeat the architectural process," says Lieb (adamlieb.com). "Each level goes up one at a time." Pieces take as long as two weeks to finish and cost from $2,000 to $10,000. Who knew productivity could be so lucrative?
As beautiful as this mural is, the "old" color scheme of the seating levels (i.e., the color scheme that was used in the seats pre-McCourt ownership) does seem a little strikingly outdated. I never thought I would get used to the current pastel-shaded color scheme (which apparently is a reversion to the way it looked even before the blue-red-yellow scheme with which I was most familiar), but here we are and this field looks quite foreign.
More points to Lieb, by the way, for having a photo with Steve Garvey himself on the bio page of his website. Well done, Adam!

They are really cool. I wish someone did those of football grounds in the UK. I have just repainted my eldest sons bedroom and he would have loved to have the Arsenal Stadium painted on his wall.

I have some old photos of Dodger Stadium with the original color renderings...which are very similar (nearly identical) to today's seats...let me know if you want to see them.
