Clayton Kershaw (1-0, 3.18) vs. Craig Stammen (1-0, 8.16).
COMMENTS: Well, I couldn't have been more wrong about yesterday's game. So I'm just going to play it safe today and hope Clayton Kershaw throws a solid game against Craig "Cy Young" Stammen.
Oh, and we're tied for last place in the division. First place? The Padres. Here, have some Banana Runts:

Predictable.
No lead is safe.
shee-it.
Is Blake due up next inning?
I think torre overthought his hand a bit with the bullpen.
*Purposeful diversion from Dodgers due to circumstances*
Mr. C- Do you follow Cardiff at all?
Nats running wild on Martin. Is his increased bulk slowing him down?
@Mr. C: You have Aaron Ramsey to be proud of as well.
"I think torre overthought his hand a bit with the bullpen."
Can we just keep this phrase posted at the top, in the Sons banner?
Pods win again.
Martin's been sucking at throwing runners out for awhile now (since last year or before).
@DB
Speaking of Cardiff, Ramsey's old club.
Been there. Not bad. Swansea is a bit better.
Well the first steal was on broxton. He is so damn slow to the plate. Martin needs to know when to give up on a SB though his throwing errors aren't helping.
Time to get Broxton the win.
Using Brox for 4 outs will likely take 30 pitches. Sheesh.
Well with billingsley pitching tomorrow who knows if we will need broxton.
Man. Ethier got screwed on that at bat
Agree with Nic. The zone on gameday shows this ump as being slightly skewed.
This just in: We suck.
GUESS WHO'S UP
Blake up. One more HR in him, maybe?
Look at all those LA hats behind home plate. Represent!
Meh. I'll take it.
I'll tkae it!
Not a dinger but I'll take it.
Lowlight reel material.
Casey dunks one into the Bermuda Triangle!
C'mon X man
Aw shucks
wah wah wah waaah
Eh, Giggs with a penalty. Gomes almost stopped him. There a lot of great Spanish GK's.
Bad day to debut for X.
Can't say we don't miss Manny. X is 0-4.
I need Vinny to walk me through this.
@DB
Yeah, I've been pulling for Cardiff to get up from the Championship this season.
@RB re: Swansea
Do you mean the town or the club?
This can't end well.
Mr. C: The city. I stayed on the coast in Wales when I went, but went through the two big cities first.
Met a bartender who claimed he knew Dylan Thomas.
This just in: Adam Dunn's homer from last night damaged the third deck; stadium ordered closed, NOW!
Brox on 22 pitches.
@rb
Every bartender in Wales knew Dylan Thomas personally, I believe.
Cardiff the town is a little sleepy for a city and a little to exciting for a village.
Pembroke coast is amazing, though.
Buck and Karros are calling the Angels/Yankees game. The combination of hair products between these two broadcasters have kept the L'Oreal men's line in business for a long time.
@Mr C-
Good friend of mine is a big Cardiff supporter. I've been helping him root for the Bluebirds for years.
cc RB
Have we lost yet?
No way in hell Broxton can pitch tomorrow.
It's a sad day when you fear Willie Harris.
Tanking this to the limit, one more time.
Extra innings, here we come.
Whew.
Mr. C: Stayed at a place called The Worm's Head Inn. My room had an amazing view of the coast. we walked about a mile up the beach to a surf shop. I offered to trade some of my shirts for one of theirs. They didn't have any.
Too bad, they could've had a Jack's Surfboards shirt and stories to tell.
Freakin' cold there as well.
Ledley King with a brilliant header off a corner. 1-1.
I hate Spurs a little less than Man U.
@dusty
Yeah, they went through some tough times, but they're getting to be a downright respectable club. Chopra was a nice pick up for them.
Jamey Carroll: Thanks for playing.
@MR C
Yeah Chopra has been solid.
DB:
Who's your GK on your fantasy team.
Wait, Chech?
I wouldn't call that "playing" re Carroll.
@RB
Jussi from Bolton today. Switch it up often depending on weekly matchups. Stayed with Shay Given a lot of the season.
Why did we even bother to go to the tenth inning? 123.
So we've got Flat Breezy to rely on now in extry innings?
Who's our long relief guy? Ra Ortiz pitched yesterday. No Weaver. No Tron. No Kuo. No Belly. Sherrill can't last too long. Who's left?
Tough day for Given today, eh? Luck of the Irish my arse.
Nani with a beautiful goal. 2-1 Man U. I take it this is the end result.
And how 'bout that Dodger game?
Sansabelt Haeger is available for the 13th.
Haeger pitched yesterday. I doubt the staff would want him out there again, even with his knuckleball.
Boy, has Berbatov been a bust with Man U.
WTF. Did Sherrill just pitch a 1-2-3 inning?
Solid inning by Sherrill.
1-2-3.
Finally
Ugh. Another penalty?
3-1 Man U. Looks like pressure's on the Blue, eh DB?
Breezy deals in the 10th. Noice!
Sherrill gets the first 123 inning. I'm thinking Joe just wanted the game over and that plan backfired too.
MLASF,
I jest. Although with Torre lately, anything is possible.
Fucking Willie Harris.
Yep, the pressure is on the Blues tomorrow v. Stoke. Squeaky bum time.
Great catch by W Harris. Have to give him props for that.
Ha!
I'm out. Son's game in an hour.
Good piece o' hittin'.
Kemp can't steal bases anymore.
AHH where's the replay?
What is Matt arguing about? He was out by 15 minutes.
Surr. They throw out runners.
Oh wow...Kemp did look safe.
Athletic play by loney.
Good hustle, JLo.
You won't have Kemp to kick around anymore.
MONNY!!!
Kemp looks mad/annoyed.
C-money.
Monny is money.
Loney with a check swing ground out. Seen that before.
Mark Loretta is warming up in the bullpen.
I'm just now hearing about this Yankees v Dodgers game in June.
@DB, yeah apparently they are renewing a rivalry or something.
If only stupid stammen would have run faster.
I am beginning to get on the Monasterios bandwagon.
Dodger Cutie still in her seat behind home plate. Way to represent!
We are really sticking it to FOX.
Willingham gets one in the ribs tomorrow.
KKarlos!
Nasty curve by Monasterios!
Chad better be prepared to go 7-8 innings tomorrow. Ramon's the only guy left in the 'pen.
Seriously, who the hell can pitch? Joe's burned through the bench and the 'pen.
Well if he continues his "the curious case of billingley button" routine he might only pitch one inning.
Raffy single.
So good to see Raffy run
WE TAKE THE LEAD!!!
GOLDEN GOD!!!!
J-Mart!
Yay
now who the fuck closes the game!!??!!
GOLDEN GOD!!!
Russ gets a steal.
Looks like the Egyptian Lord of the Sun is going to close this one out, aka Ra Ortiz.
Nice steal russ. Way to take the bat out of Dre's hands.
Nevermind. Looks like Ra's not going to get up.
Haha that shot of Ortiz shrugging his shoulders was classic.
Crowds getting restless, run the presidents again!
One away.
One easy out.
If pudge snags a base off Russ he is fired.
It's never easy, is it?
yuck
Need a K or popup.
One more strike...
OUT AT THE PLATE!!! SUCK IT PUDGE!!!
Lucky for us they didn't use a pinch runner.
Don't get beat by goosemon.
One more strike...
I can watch
MONNY GETS THE WIN!!!
Yay... however costly it was to our bullpen, we won.
Baptism of fire for Mono
I'm fully on the Monasterios bandwagon now!
Shheeeeeyat. I need to unpucker.
Casey fuckin' Blake, ladies and gentlemen!
Amazingly stupefyingly competent bully today. What gives?
Will we now revert to all-pitch/no-hit form? Is there no middle ground?
"Vicente Padilla to the DL with a sore forearm; Jon Link being recalled."
Battletoad down!
Who's going into the rotation? Ortiz?
Sorry, forgot sourcing..D Hernandez.
Link has probably had more scoreless innings than Padilla.
So, like, we won and stuff?
Wow, we need 13 to beat the Nats? Yecch.
This place looks like a highway jammed with broken heroes on a last chance powerdrive.
I am glad we won.
Sad to see our Toad has a wet sproket.
Wondering if we will ever win a road series....
I was wondering what would happen if our already thin rotation lost a starter...guess I will find out.
OK, finally with a couple o' beers on board and filled to the brim with Mexican food, I feel much better.
As for today's game, at least I was in the car, on the way to the son's soccer game (they lost, fucking refs), when the final out was recorded.
God help me, all I could think of was, "I bet MLASF is proud." I am hopelessly addicted to this place and the GT's.
@Paul
Oh no you dih-unt with the Toad the Wet Sprocket reference. I'm simultaneously disgusted with you and very proud of you.
@RB
I hear you re the GTs. What's really sad is when I wake up and think, ooohhh I need to say this or that during the game. Then wait all day to do so. Pre-meditated commenting, I guess I'm saying.
Padilla was supposed to go on Tuesday vs the Mets. The Mets have had trouble against our lefties the past few years. I wonder if Joe will give Elbert a shot
@Dusty
I use to be ashamed by my toad the wet sproket knowledge I mean I was just a kid in college hanging out a lot of weekends in Sonoma and Humbolt. I didn't know it was ruining my steet cred but a laid back college kid can only listen to so much Rage Against the Machine and Tribe called Quest (and of course Beasties).
Then this knowledge served me well one night at a bar with a lovely girl named Dulcinea and I will be ashamed no more.
@FB
I hope so. Wondering who the starter will be reminded me of that 18 game homestand back in 1992 because of the cancelled LA riot games. I think they had two double hitters during that strech and had to call up two kids from the minors. I think but could be wrong one was Pedro Astacio.
I'm only giving you respectful grief, Paul. Good work!
Thanks Dusty, and when I start referencing 10,000 maniacs please just go ahead and bitch slap me!
