Clayton Kershaw (8-7, 2.94) vs. Wade LeBlanc (0-1, 9.58).
COMMENTS: What's up, Doc? The Dodgers have hit LeBlanc to the (looney) tune of a .364 average, so tonight's pitching matchup should be a blank check for them to blank the Padres. Although the Dodgers have been lacking in run support lately, they won't be lacking my support — I'll be there for you, Boys in Blue. Let's hope LeBlanc gets hit left and right, left and right, and feels the burn!

Like the fact that Torre stays with BelliYard. Gives O some more rest and keeps a hot bat in the lineup.
Let's hope for a KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKershaw outing of epic proportions.

Place all bets with the bartender at the Assassins' Circle. Mention you got killed by rbnlaw and receive a bonus $5 on your bet.
@ Paul re Brox:
While you're at the job working nine to five
Big Boy Broxton at the Ravine - cold throwin' 105!
You know it's September when the pads roll out leblanc and his endless ammount of changeups.
So NicJ, would you say change is in the air?
I just went to the coinstar and got $108 back from chain. Drinks are on me everyone...I hope you like Pabst Blue Ribbon
@ Dusty,
Nice!.
I got $1 on a basehit by Raffy.
Make it an extra base hit. $1 gets me $75
Phiwwy losing 6-0 in the 5th.
Rox up early 1-0.
Gnats down 2-0 in the 4th to Brewaz. That should be enough runs to hold off Gnats.
I made the drive from San Diego for tonight's game! Why do they play old music videos before the game? Hair bands are always cool...
Welcome to the Ravine, Matt!
@GLG:
Oh heyel, yes.
Yank-mes lost! About time, a-holez!
Nobody better be drinking PBR without including me, is all I gots to say.
By the way, all Furcal bets are for his first at bat. Subsequent at-bats are all assumed to be meaningless unless he leads-off the inning, then the ground-ball out is assumed.
he's gonna ground out to the 2nd baseman
Wainwright totally pulled a billingsley today. It's comforting to see that he is human.
however the cards are still winning
We ran Wainwright out when he was last here.
Say "We ran Wainwright" five times fast.
Off to the sports bar/pizza joint to watch the game and eat wings with the family.
Best of luck on your bets gentlemen. I took the dropped third strike option.
Well they are playing the pirates.
D'bags just equalized w/ Rox. 2-2.
Looks like Kershaw is following the Jon Garland plan from last night.
I dont mind the rough start and cruising the rest of the game, as much as the later inning implosion
Ole~
19 pitches. Not one curve thrown. Clayton, that's, um, kinda your thing.
will this be a mirror game from last night
breaking pitch in the dirt
If kershaw gets the usually run support he has been getting he just lost the game.
Our one-man wrecking crew - BelliYard - can make it up.
@ nic
yea, he is the randy wolf of the second half
Is headly using notes?
its a countdown to a homer i swear
Hitting the ball hard, but right at people.
I've seen this game already.
Two errors on one play.
I think I'm going to watch something else.
Anyone have any clue why Kershaw slide steps with a runner on third...his mechanics go to shit when he slide steps.
Hadn't noticed but I'll watch that, Andrew.
The sign of a man who tries to pull everything...consecutive nights of broken bat dying quail singles to center.
Dusty- The thing to look for are the fast balls that tend to stay up and outside...with the slide step, his arm lags and can't get a downward plane to the plate.
Was that fly ball by Loney the farthest ball he has hit at Dodger Stadium this year?
Clearly Kershaw is pitching around Eckstein to get to Adrian Gonzalez.
Two nights in a row with that play?!
hitting the ball on the screws each time. le blanc is playing with fire.
but wasnt the guy yesterday having an 8 ERA and his ERA actually improved?!
kinda empty tonight~
At least he is getting productive outs now.
A fly ball to center with first and second and no one out as the last feasible offensive threat is NOT really that productive.
For the off season, do we decide 94 OPS+ is not acceptable out of a first baseman, regardless of his defensive abilities?
Blanked by Leblanc so far.
@ ANdrew
Yes. Decidedly yes.
If you can find anyone out there that is better and available I'm sure the dodgers would love to hear any ideas.
My grandmother is a better hitter for power.
What number does she Want to wear?
I bet matt kemp misses august.
Guys.....really....we are be shut down again.
Being but be works
K guys. Just heading out to the bars in the evil city hunting for witches I think I am money tonight. I still have the updates but I am not happy about this sad sack of sadistic southerners!!!!
#45 I think is available.
http://twitpic.com/gj0xj
That's me as a kid, BTW, with said grandmother. Right when I developed my love for Colt 45.
I love first basemen who hit .270 with no power as much as .249 lead off hitters who dont walk.
Can we have a metaphor contest for what the effect of having Loretta hit for Ausmus is?
The dodgers are taking the phrase "baseball is a game of failure" way too literally.
I hope this game can be the kick in the nuts the offense has needed.
Manny, kemp, and maybe thome up next?
I have no clue who any of these pod pitchers are.
This game has certainly kicked me in the nuts. Though I didn't necessarily need it.
I'm getting tired of Manny all of a sudden.
Thome Thime!!!
THOME
THOME, YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD
A base hit!!!!!!!!!'
Ugh, Belliard, you downer.
If Manny didn't look like Manny and have his name and number on the back of his jersey, you'd think, who the fuck is this amateur, inpatient hitter trying to big time it? Sad what he's become. He was always patient and smart at bat, willing to take a walk or knock a nice double, and now all he does is watch good pitches, swing wildly, force things, and generally suck.
I hate Bell!!!!!!
When I need bell to win he sucks, and when I need him to suck tonight I'm sure he will be perfect.
Come on Heath get this guy!
Repko should be on the move.
I feel like giving everyone on the team a swift kick in the nuts.
Well that didn't work
Can we get Adrian Gonzalez in a trade and have him switch unis like Jon Garland did? Now?
0-11 w/ RISP.
2 out of 2 dust's agree that loney needs to go.
This is so horrible, i am about to have a Guinness milkshake @ the Roosevelt, in order to reverse our fortunes.
I'm not kidding.
Sax, that's so cruel to flaunt your proximity to such nectar. If I weren't almost a jug into a Chianti, I'd have half a mind to get off tha sofa and head there for a shake.
Seriously, how are the Dodgers about to get Blanc'd
The fart of our lineup due up: Loretta, Martin, Furcal.
JP and Thome: Better than Loretta.
JP with tha remedy!
maybe we should sit manny and start pierre.
Come on, Coltrane! Where do you want your bobblehead to end up tonight?
Aw, for fuck's sake
Ok, JMart. Your bobblehead now rests next to the cats' litterbox. Hurts me more than it does you.
why dont people boo martin?
This game was one big fail
Think i can make it down to Dodger Stadium so i can flip over the spread before anyone gets to it?
I think the trend has been the mocking of opposing pitchers in the GT.
Paul, dont forget about martin and loney.
You could also throw in Blake and Manny.
On the bright side, we wont have to see Leblanc in the playoffs.
I've been wrong on many things, but I continue to say Torre needs to turn some tables over and do some yellin' at this point, cause these guys are just stuck in slo-mo. WTF?
Dodgers Live postgame is just bagging on us, and they should be.
Nic
You are right this is a team effort of bad offensive baseball
I think the dodgers need a talking to by Tommy Lasorda.
The one bright side my friend Sue Falsone is being recognized as the first woman trainer.
Nic J. I just tried to go flip the spread but the new Prince Fielder-proof security stopped me...ooo fireworks!
@ Paul
Just watched the piece on Sue. Awesome story! She's a friend of yours? Mucho props. I love what Randy Wolf had to say about her.
Nice tribute to Sue! Makes me feel a little better. Now back to another round
Dusty.
Yes and you won't meet a nicer more down to earth person who is dedicated to her job. Very proud of her and the dodgers for giving her the chance
Jon Lovitz on DodgerTalk.
Can she hit?
Can Lovitz hit?
Im desperate.
It is really sad when Matt Latos scares you.
I blame this loss on the lack of an ace. That is the problem this team has, right? Lack of an ace?
MLSF, you two-timer. I saw that post on TBLA.
haha.
OK, we all admit that this game sucked.
But, I'll spin it this way:
Our last three series, we won, won, split. In each of those series I think we lost the first game. Am I wrong about this. (It's late and my memory is shot from the week.)
Nic J.: MLASF hasn't learned my trick of posting on different sites under different screen names.
Nic has discovered my secret!
(scurries back to cave, huddles under rock)
I knew Nuuubs was you!!!
"Nic has discovered my secret!
(scurries back to cave, huddles under rock)"
While your under there can you looks for the dodgers offense?
@Nic - I checked. Nothing. But I did find the real killer.
I thought for sure my "Busty Daker" moniker would fool everyone.
Guinness milkshake didn't do shit except give this lactose-intolerant Son a guarantee for a long night. Wonderful.
looks like the dodgers wont be the only ones in the crapper tonight. Huh, Sax?
Dodgers tonight: NOT Brilliant!
Will someone put up a PGT so i dont have to look at Matt Leblanc and his stupid taunting grin everytime i check back on the site.
Hey Dusty-When I was 12 years old or so, you were playing for the Dodgers at Wrigley one day. I believe you were just traded from the Giants back then(or vice-versa) Most of the big leaguers used to ignore me(I was a real excitable kid). You were by the Visitor's bullpen, and I ran up to you and said "Dusty, Dusty-can I have a baseball, I've never caught one at a game in my life! And you said "Sure" and tossed me an old ball. It may be common practice now-a-days, but I have never forgot that simple act of kindness you showed me. I've told the story to my sister Barbara Bernstein, and her son Max whom you may remember from your Cubs Spring Training managerial days. I always felt that you and Ernie Banks were the two classiest guys I ever met in baseball, you both are so very well grounded, heartfelt people. That makes a difference to a kid,and you left a great impression on my life. Though I grew up on the Northside, I've always been a Sox fan, like my brothers. The only time I rooted for the Cubbies(please help Santo get in the HOF soon, he is most deserving) was one cold September day in 1972, when my brothers and I were in attendance for Milt Pappas' no-hitter. He had a perfect game going against the Padres, but on the 27th batter, pinch hitter Larry Stahl was behind on the count 1-2. Despite 3 close pitches that could have gone either way, Umpire Bruce Froemming wouldn't give Pappas the call. Randy Hundley had to restrain Pappas, who came off the mound after Froemming.LOL-Good luck to you and your family always, I may not of been a Cub fan, but I've always been a Dusty Baker fan.
P.S.-Us Southside Hitmen are going to miss Thome, hope he hits #600 in Dodger blue, you guys should be unstoppable now, with him and Garland on the team. You can always trade for Heinie Manusch to replace Furcal-LOL
Now it's clear why the Madres traded away Peavey... LeBlanc is the new Dodger Killer of the NL WEST.
Are you kidding me? Wade LeBlanc blancs the Dodgers? This is a sign of the apocolypse for the Dodgers offense. I understand the team is mired in some unsustainable funk, but man, they do not look like a championship caliber team right now.
Hey, Kenny Williams says we are going to ask Thome to rejoin the Sox next season-woo woo---- go help these Dodgers , Big Jim, then come on back home Thome!
