Chad Billingsley (2-5, 4.89) vs. Ben Sheets (4-0, 2.53).
COMMENTS: Good morning, Grumpy Gus! With a six-game losing streak looming last night, I was about to get all Negative Nelly on you...until Juan Pierre made me turn that frown upside-down! Never mind that Rafael Furcal is on the DL. Never mind that we have no stopper. Never mind that today the Dodgers are facing Brewers ace Ben Sheets. Never mind that the Diamondbacks have shaken off their losing streak by winning two straight. Never mind that the Giants have won at least one against the Dodgers-sweeping Astros. Never mind that the Dodgers play the Angels this weekend. Never mind that I'm working this gag way too hard. Why? Because SoSG has a secret weapon: A Son in the stands at Miller Park! He will do the voodoo that you do to give the Blue Crew the juju to see a win through! (Hey, it worked yesterday!)

Guess Joe is playing for the ninth-inning comeback again. Good strategy there.
Maza has been on a tear in the minors. Making his major league debut against Ben Sheets won't be easy but I'm excited to see what he can do.
Maza, the 27-year-old rookie. Meanwhile, Jones pops up on one pitch. Nice job, Andruw.
Sheets gets the backwards K on Ethier. If he gets that corner all day long, he'll be unstoppable.
What? Martin's at third at Steiner said DeWitt is "down."
Maza gets the play at SS!
Russell showing his gun at third on a foul ball!
Diamond says DeWitt has "a back issue." Which magazine, I wonder?
Sheets is rolling.
Maza is good, though he's 27. In venezuelan winter baseball, he plays for the most powerful team, so he is used to win. If he can replicate that magic, the Dodgers could have found a nice replacement.
He's been in the organization for two years, he used to play for the Twins before.
Hello, Orel!
It's a pitching duel! Three innings, no hits for either team.
Epale Karina! Maza's had some nice plays at shortstop. Hope he can work some magic with his bat too.
Pierre breaks up Sheets' perfecto with a single!
Sheets is throwing filthy stuff today.
Trivia answer: Bill Sudakis (1969), Ron Cey (1979)
what was the question?
Maza is an utility infielder and he can even play in the outfield. He's a contact hitter but i guess it's not easy to make your major league debut against Sheets' nasty stuff.
don't you love pitching duels?
Whoops! Question was: Which 2 3rd basemen played at least 100 games in their rookie seasons for the Dodgers?
Maza grounds into a DP.
Pitching duels do result in shorter games. But it also means watching your batters flail at the plate.
Bills first-pitch strikes to 10 of 13 batters.
Let's hope he can overcome the fifth inning today.
Maza with the nice pick but Loney can't dig it out!
And Maza and Loney can't turn the 3-6-3 DP. Through no fault of their own—runner was flying down the line.
A few bumps but Bills gets out of the 5th unscathed.
Dammit, Pierre picked off. Guess you gotta take some risks in a tight game.
Good bunt by Pierre all for nothing. Picked off. Damn.
And Steve Lyons drops the M.C. Hammer reference!
MC Hammer reference? I'm listening on the radio, what did he say exactly?
Something like: "Bills' has great location today. 'Can't touch this.' Where's M.C. Hammer when you need
him?"
Charlie: "Unemployed."
Andruw and his mojo are reunited, if briefly!
HAHA! That's great!
Is Andruw breaking out of his slump now? He just doubled his homerun count for the year! Woohoo!
Wow, he smoked a shoulder-high fastball.
I can't believe it! Andruw Jones HR!
Wow, Jeff Kent homers! What's in the Milwaukee water?
Loney triples!
Two homers and a triple is one heck of a way to break up a pitching duel. Let's keep it going guys!
I really hope Jones and Kent have bust out of their slumps like Steiner thinks... we need them to start hitting.
Martin RBI #16! 3-0 Dodgers! Still only one out in the 7th!
Hit and run at LUIS MAZA WITH HIS FIRST MAJOR LEAGUE HIT!
Are you freakin' kidding me? GARY BENNETT 3-RUN HOME RUN!
Gary Bennett? Are you kidding me?!?!?
Three homeruns in one inning!? There really must be something in the water!
How humiliating for Ben Sheets. They took him out with Billingsley at the plate.
Hu-Maza-Loney DP! It sounds like a new cheese!
Do they leave him in for the complete game?
Fingers crossed!
Bills starts the eighth and Kendall promptly triples.
Bills at 100+ pitches. He's not getting out of this inning unless he gets real efficient real fast.
And a walk. Thanks and good night, Chad.
I also can't believe Bills made it into the 8th . I hope he can pitch through that, in spite he has just given a walk.
I say he had a hell of a game, guys! One of his best...
And Broxton exchanges a DP for a run.
$45 million-man Braun with the solo homer. Bear down, Brox. 6-2 Dodgers.
Broxton is pitching today at fantasy, i ain't fan of this.
Maza with the inning-ending diving play!
Bennett RBI double! 7-2 Dodgers.
Bennett en fuego!!!!
I guess Maza has had a great MLB debut.
( he has made suffer so much, playing so well against my beloved Aguilas, i wish he could put that kind of performance at the big show level)
Ethier hasn't had a great game today, i hope it doesn't give excuse to Totte to sit him for a couple of days.
Andruw's HR isn't going to help Ethier's case.
I know, it really pisses me off.
So let's sit Martin because Bennett had a 3-run home run.
And that does it, kids! Good win today!
Do you think it's time to put the gnome somewhere?
Why not? We're on a two-game winning streak!
playing the Angels tomorrow, anyone feels the same goosepumps?
I feel ceramic goosebumps!
Ah, we're out of funds for the month. We can't afford to fly AC back to Anaheim for the Angels series! Guess he's thumbing his way back home...
