Derek Lowe (2-4, 5.34) vs. Adam Wainwright (3-2, 3.25).
COMMENTS: Good news: The Dodgers have won three straight! Bad news: Lowe (1-4 record, 5.93 ERA lifetime versus the Cards) is starting tonight. Good news: Wainwright has had two consecutive rough starts! Bad news: Big, Bad Albert is feeling just fine. Good news: Rafael Furcal might be back tonight! Bad news: So might Andruw Jones. It's a mixed bag for both these second-place teams; which one will rise above?

Lakers 46, Spurs 37 at the half.
Slappy slap slap, one out.
Hello Orel
Koona t'chuta, EK.
Lowe already in hot water in the second inning. 1st & 3rd 2/1 out.
Babelfish is not coming through for me
Ask Karina, she speaks Rodian.
Great, bases loaded.
They didn't offer it in high school.
bases juiced
...and the pitcher, batting 8th, is up.
Do you remember the venezuelan phrase for bases loaded?
I think Pimsleur offers it.
2 out.
double play, please
Not exactly, but translated it means "the small domicile is ablaze."
Lowe escapes!
Speaking of Venezuela, good ole Izturis ends the inning. Thanks buddy.
El rancho esta ardiendo. I forget how to say it in Rodian.
Cesar is tsuris.
ardiendo = en fuego?
I guess when he's here in the US he's tsuris
Lakers up 17 after 3 quarters.
It's raining in L.A.?
Yes, roughly. Or heating up.
Koona t'chuta, Erin
Yesterday was a very Star Wars intensive day on SoSG.
Hi Erin. I can't see rain but Vin just mentioned something about fans seeking shelter. And some people are covering up.
Kemp beats out tsuris' throw!
I have had a very Star Wars intensive life, so it was normal for me.
Fast learner, Eric Karros.
Hello everybody!
According to my Google search, EK, that means "going somewhere?" So, in that case, the answer is, not until later. Right now I'm watching the Spurs shoot themselves in the foot, and listening to the Gameday audio because MLB.tv is sucking it up right now.
Just get on Hu, so we can get Lowe's AB over with this inning.
Epale Karina!
Erin, love the pictures on your site.
Today I was sick so I had a lot of free time. And Star Wars was on my mind.
What is Rodian for epale?
Thank you, Orel. I just found out my seats for Monday's Cubs/Dodgers game are eight rows behind the Dodger dugout. Those pictures are going to be amazing. I'm pumped.
Flu?
Koona t'chuta Karina. I hope that means hello or something similar.
Kemp advances on the WP!
Also a fast learner, Orel
No, nothing specific.
Erin, that's amazing. I'll look for you on TV.
Dammit, Hu strands Kemp on third.
I don't know how you say epale in Rodian.
I'm amazed of how big star wars fans you are.
You have no idea, Karina
Anyone see Indiana Jones yet?
What EK said, Karina. We are the Star Wars generation!
Arizona killed Atlanta today.
Orel, what's even more amazing is that I'm only paying face value for the seats. Pretty sweet deal. I got a major hookup. I have good seats for Tuesday and Wednesday, but nothing like the Monday seat. Now I just have to hope these forecasted "scattered thundershowers" don't amount to anything.
I will probably see Indiana Jones tomorrow, but at the latest on Sunday. Does anyone else think the trailer makes it look incredibly stupid?
I'd say you Orel are the lead Star Wars proponent of SoSG.
I'm gonna go check out these photos on Erin's site...
Major hookup indeed. You should be fine with anything short of downpours.
Lakers are cruising, sorry Erin.
...but I think Yoda might have been in my dream last night.
Nice photos Erin.
I was shocked at the amount of CG in the Indy trailer. I thought Spielberg was Mr. Practical.
I'm comfortable with that title, EK. But Sax probably has more toys than I do since I sold a bunch on eBay.
Hey, I just noticed we're losing.
Yeah, I hate the Lakers. Always have (even before the Spurs became my team) and always will.
And Wakefield is sucking in Oakland for the Sox, so it's turning out to be a bit of a crappy night, especially with Lowe giving up that home run just now.
I saw Indiana Jones at wednesday night at last minute notice, that's why i had to leave the game thread.
Then i saw it again yesterday.
Now, i need to share thought about it. I think they mixed spirituality between Indy and Star Wars.
(i won't say anything else since i don't want to spoil the movie for anyone)
crap, Ludwick HR.
I once saw an awesome copper Yoda garden figure at the Pasadena flea market. But they wanted $200 for it.
Yes, I have not seen it yet but hopefully will this weekend.
Indy was so nice, Karina saw it twice! Hopefully I'll see it Monday so we can yak about it.
Orel - so you were wondering "what's the catch?"
That rain must be falling in San Diego. They're delayed right now.
That's cool Erin, the Lakers are kind of like the Yankees that way.
Erin, I stopped liking the Lakers a few years ago. But I don't like the Spurs either.
That's truer than you know, EK. I almost bought it.
Wainwright is cruising through three.
According to CNN.com, the FDA has issued warnings about "harmful nipple cream." So, be careful boys.
I did like it, but i'm sucker for it. It's the same with Star Wars. Release something and i'll love it with irrational passion.
It;s the same with Dodgers, if they win. i love them, if they lose, i'll love them anyways.
I used to love the Lakers. Now i don't follow basketball (unless the Lakers get to the playoffs)
But what if my harmful nipples are dry?
Karina, you have impeccable taste.
I'm not sure what NBA team I support. None of the ones that are left.
And Lowe gives up a leadoff single. Hard to believe this is Lowe's walk year.
BTW I recently saw Iron Man. Very good.
Erin: those are great pictures. Your seats at the Wrigley Field were excellent.
In the other hand, I adore your pics of the US Cellular Field, specially the Fisk pics, may i give the link to my brother?
Rick Ankiel looks cross-eyed.
Karina, you may give the link to everyone you know.
I got lucky with the Fisk pics. For one thing, I had no idea he was being honored, and for another, there were plenty of empty seats near the field for me to get the shots. It was definitely a good night.
Nice play by Loney & Lowe (sounds like a law firm).
Wow, Lakers win by 30. 30!
Thanks, Orel. You do have impeccable taste, too.
Awww!
Russell—Karina's son—doubles!
My brother totally worships Carlton Fisk. He's a legend in this house, though we all follow different teams.
How can you not love Russell Martin?
I'll be jealous if any of you get the Saito bobblehead on June 5, since I can't get be there. Tuesday is Fukudome bobblehead night at Wrigley, but they only give them out to the first 10,000 fans.
**edited because I forgot a word.
They should make a Vin bobblehead.
Orel, if they made a Vin bobblehead, I would fly back to L.A. for one night just to get it.
I'd pay a lot of money for that bobblehead in ebay.
I can't believe that KIng James' K
I may have read something about Vin turning down the idea of a bobblehead? Sounds like him, ever so modest.
Torre is arguing, I don't know about what....
It's almost like no other baseball player has ever come from a small town, the way they go on and on about Sikeston, MO. They were doing it even before the town got on the Dodger radio network.
Ok folks, I'm going to sleep...
Vin says it's about Bowa.
1st & 2nd, 2 out. DeWitt up.
I hope Yoda doesn't reappear in my dream or I'm gonna start questioning if it's a dream
Night, EK!
If Blake DeWitt hits something good, i think we should start the campaign for a DeWitt bobblehead.
How cool would that be, your own personal Yoda?
Wainwright's curve is just killing us.
Night, Eric.
If Yoda reappears. i think it's time to pack your baks and go to Dagobah.
*bags
We'll have to wait a little bit for that campaign...
Dodgers missed Santana, but they'll have to face Big Z.
Despite the late hour here in Chicago, I'm heading out. I'll be praying for a Dodger rally.
Night, Erin
I kid you not Orel, I spent much of the day in a dream-like state and I think all the Star Wars posts from yesterday got to me. A very weird day for me. I started to make a post about it. Now that I'm more lucid I'll decide whether to finish & post it or not.
Good night Erin
Boys, the Mets are a mess. There are rumors Minaya is flying out to Colorado to fire Randolph.
Party on, Erin!
Sometimes those half-dream states are the most creative.
Lowe needs nore support in this outing, after his messy previous starts, only to build his confidence.
Mets are a total mess.
Congratulations to Barry Zito on his first win of the season.
Big Z went 4-for-5 at the plate today.
Hu golfs one into LF!
Lowe is used to not getting run support. Not that he deserves it.
You'd think signing Santana would have stabilized the Mets.
Hu's On-base and OPS are worse than Andruw's, at least before that hit.
Mets will recover, as will the Yankees. Unfortunately.
Big Z rocks (specially because he's the ace of my fantasy team)
I need his batting points...life is unfair...
Actually I don't mind the Mets but I strongly dislike the Yankees.
Pierre with a rare K.
Dodgers are 0-for-5 w/RISP.
I don't want them to recover. Dad's a Yankee fan and my other brother is a Mets fan...
After what the Mets did to the Dodgers two years ago?
Karina, your household has MLB covered!
No self-respected Dodger fan can like the Yankees. 8 of their championships were won against the Dodgers.
Today is the anniversary of Shawn Green's 4-HR game in Milwaukee!
Yeah that sucked. But a team beating us in big games doesn't make me dislike them.
Now that Erin is gone, I can say I like the Yankees better than the Red Sox.
Anyways I was supposed to go to bed like 15 minutes ago but I think I'm afraid of Yoda reappearing and haunting me.
DeWitt, charging the ball, manages to turn the DP!
and my brother (the one who worships Carlton Fisk) is a Braves Fan.
The White Sox is the unofficial second team of the house (of course my dad only will love the Yankees)
And i haven't covered italian and spanish soccer and F1. Thanks God we stopped liking basketball.
We're not siblings, we're sportscenter.
Yoda means no harm. Roll with it.
If I had to choose I'd take the Sox over the Yankees. I was actually totally fired up in '04 about their ALCS comeback.
"We're not siblings, we're sportscenter." Very funny!
Didn't Wilson Alvarez pitch his debut no-hitter as a White Sock?
For the longest time, the Red Sox made me feel better about being a Dodgers fan. Now that they're a powerhouse, I only have the Cubs to turn to.
Ok goodnight for real everyone -
It's true. We talk about sports 80% of the time.
I once saw Fever Pitch with my parents and they didn't laugh, they were like "we raised three kids just like that guy, it's not funny"
Sure EK, see you in a few minutes.
Yep, he was. On August 11th, 1991.
Night Eric!
Luis Aparicio is in the Hall of Fame as a White Sox, too.
Are you all Aguilas fans?
Hope my son Martin scores.
Kent tagged that but right at Duncan. Damn.
I guess it's just you and me, Karina.
Molina tries to pull a Benito Santiago and throws it into RF! Martin to second.
Loney advances Martin to third, but two out.
C'mon, Kemp!
Dammit, first pitch swinging.
Hi everybody!!! (ala Dr. Nick Riviera). Seems like we need some offense.
It's complicated. My dad used to have season tickets for us when we were growing up. Most of our weekends we'd spend mornings watching my older brother at the Little Leagues, then we got back home, had lunch and get to the stadium. So, we were raised as Aguilas fans.
My dad was a Pastora fan growing up, but that franchise disappeared, to be reactivated on the late 1990's, so he switched teams. Pastora disappeared again last year and i honestly don't know if he'll ever be a Aguilas fan again.
In spite of being raised watching lots of Aguilas games, my younger brother is a Magallanes fan (and a traitor)
We all drive Mom crazy on winter baseball.
Pierre waddled but made the catch. Strange play.
It's a shame for Martin if they lose this game. He's done a wonderful job tonight.
STOP THE PRESSES! great catch by Pierre.
Hi, Dr. Nick!
Cesar Izturis is Maicer Izturis are brothers. Strangely enough, they don't have the same mother, though it's widely reported they're very close to each other.
King James needs to practice his throwing.
With winter ball, there must be baseball year-round for you. Or close to it.
It's baseball season for eleven months. Though the Series del Caribe ends one week (more or less) before pitchers and catchers report.
Huuu triples!
That does it for Lowe.
Hu tripled?
That must be nice.
Hmmm, i think i'd leave Lowe instead. Let's see if Swenney does the job.
Wow Hu with a triple!!!
Lowe is going to have be like Kuroda—good starts, no run support. Then things will pick up.
Sweeney actually does his job. 2-1 Dodgers. Lowe could actually get the win if we take the lead this inning.
I'm glad i was wrong.
Never mind.
Yeah!!! We scored!!!
This commerical just played. Great if you're a dog lover.
That's why i'm so fond of venezuelan players at the MLB, because i get to see them for years before they make it.
We also get to see hot prospects. For example, Cardenales had Adam Jones last year, that guy's spectacular.
Random obscure trivia: Mike Easler played for Aguilas del Zulia, as Terry Francona, Joe Girardi, Greg Maddux and Ryne Sandberg.
Torre bringing in Proctor to face Pujols. Beimel left the mound smiling at Torre.
Jimmy Rollins played for Aguilas in the 1999-2000 season, the last Aguilas championship, he was brilliant.
Nice pick and throw by Hu.
Greg Maddux and Ryne Sandberg? Really?
I saw that.
Yep, though i was very young and i don't really remember.
I have a dog. This commercial is hilarious!
Still, that's cool.
What kind of dog?
Pujols walks. Big surprise.
a mixed american and english cocker spaniel.
Damn, Beimel could have walked puljos on 4 pitvhes too.
I feel nervous whenever Proctor is on the mound.
Proctor with a wicked curve. 2 out.
I thought the same thing, AC. But Torre would have brought in Proctor to face Ludwick anyway.
Big floppy ears, Karina?
Walks him. 1st & 2nd w/2 out.
Proctor K's Ankiel on 3 pitches!
his ears are like that!
I don't know if you have watched this, but i think it's gold:
http://tinyurl.com/5u7383
Ok this is the inning that we need to break out- meat of the order up. come on guys.
Loved the Beltre!
Furcal is not ready to play yet but Andruw Jones seems to do fine, he could even pitch hit tonight.
what kind of sick joke is that?
That pitch was high to ethier - he's not getting the calls.
Russell with the game-tying HR. You heard it here first.
I find it hilarious. If you have any spare time, watch the rest.
I loved Rauuuul!
If he hits a HR, that's it, i'm legally adopting him.
Martin's fighting them off like he's wielding a sword.
Or a light saber!
Don't file those papers just yet, Karina. 2 out.
It's official, Kent sucks.
I think they all suck tonight, but Martin and Lowe.
Damn I thought Kent had that one...
Hu is heating up, great D.
