Derek Lowe (2-2, 3.66) vs. Brian Moehler (0-0, 7.04).
COMMENTS: Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind, and sometimes you have to be lucky to be good. The Dodgers got lucky against the Mets, avoiding Johan Santana and taking two of three. The luck o' the Dodgers continues in this series against the Astros, who are starting three pitchers not named Roy Oswalt with a combined 1-3 record and 5.38 ERA. Tonight is Moehler's first start since September of 2006. Lowe is coming off a poor performance in Colorado, a 112-pitch effort yielding five earned runs in five innings. Hopefully a return to sea level will be kinder to Lowe's arm.
Offensively, the Dodger bats are coming off two days of rest—unfortunately, there was a game that first day (a 12-1 loss to the Mets). But there's no reason to worry they can't bounce back; after all, the Dodgers followed Lowe's loss to the Rockies the next day with a win over the Mets. Let's see if this team can get good at stopping losing streaks at one.
(Roster update: Yhency Brazoban has been recalled from Las Vegas to replace Esteban Loaiza, who went on the disabled list.)
We've got two Sons (Sax and AC) attending tonight's game on the Field level, so give them a holler in the comments section if you're there too!

Guys, I will be there, but in loge. Third base side. I actually can't remember the section right now, and I'm too lazy to get up and look. So, I'll just wave at you from above when I get to the game.
Field level, third base side near the foul pole! As you guys like to say, look for me... I'll be wearing a blue shirt and a Dodger's hat. Can't miss me!
The lineup:
Pierre, LF
Martin, C
Kemp, RF
Kent, 2B
Loney, 1B
Jones, CF
DeWitt, 3B
Hu, SS
Lowe, P
You would think with Furcal still out (damn) that Torre would start Ethier. Or at least bench the Mustang.
Jazz 47, Lakers 36 with 2:46 left in the 2nd.
We're field level, right behind third. Come on down to the Canter's Deli counter and we'll meet for a beer.
Orel, can you pls fix my repeat posts? Blackberry is acting up.
Erin! Come down to say hi...
Give me a time and I'll meet you at Canter's (assuming you're checking this while at the game).
It makes sick seeing Ethier sitting on the bench.
have a great time the lucky ones at the stadium!
The beanie is wafer-thin.
Hey, does Lowe look hurt? Double-double-single.
Lousy defense...that's not the way to win ballgames...
Jazz 79, Lakers 72 after 3.
How 'bout 830p? There are seats next to us as of right now.
Also, you can meet a fourth Son! (Wait, that may be a deterrent.)
Our pitching and defense are beanie-thin.
he doesn't look hurt. But Pierre sure looked afraid to throw (i'm watching the game for tv YAY)
nice double play!
Gotta run. Go all local professional sports teams!
All right. I will be at Canter's at 8:30.
Erin, see you there. How many people are you here with (excuse the bad grammar).
Did you hear the song that played when Jones came to the plate? It was "Don't Worry Be Happy." I hope someone was playing a joke there, because that's hilarious.
One favor: if any of you is at the stadium and Jones grounds out or gets a strike out, please. would you boo him for me?
It's just me and my friend Nick.
DeWitt had an impressive AB there, he was spraying balls before his hit up the middle.
What about Hu's walk up song, the Who's "Who Are You."
Is Lowe's batting avg above Jones' now?
Erin, we're waiting for this AB
Bad news. Loge ticket holders aren't good enough to get down to field level. So we're staying put in our own seats.
Erin, I'm relieved that it wasnt my fault. Give me a section in loge, and we'll come up.
Blogger sucks as match.com.
We're in section 137, row J.
Karina, I was booing, but when he heard the boo from venezuela, he broke down and started crying. Right there, on the field.
I realize this will tag me as a hopeless fanboy, but Nick Lowe and Elvis Costello have to be two of the best songwriters since Lennon/McCartney.
AC: "I can't finish a whole malt. I'll have a cookie sandwich."
This game has been disappointing.
The Los Angeles Dodgers almost demolished the New York Mets - which is a far superior team than the Houston Astros (17-16 record in 2008).
Derek Lowe giving up 6 runs in 5.1 IP? That's horrendous.
I'll be making some blog posts tomorrow, by the way. Finally, my AP Euro exam is over!
