Dodgers start Brett Tomko, RHP (1-4, 5.97) vs. Jeff Suppan, RHP (5-4, 3.25).
Dodgers: 25-19 (1st place NL West, 1.0 GA, L3)
Brewers: 27-17 (1st place NL Central, 5.5 GA, W1)
From Dodgers.com, the scouting report on the starters:
Dodgers: Tomko had his worst outing of the season Monday against the Cardinals, allowing eight runs on nine hits in just 2 1/3 innings. He gave up four doubles and a home run, a two-run blast by Chris Duncan. Tomko had a 6.00 ERA in one start against the Angels last season but received no decision.Brewers: After winning five consecutive starts, Suppan has lost his last two while allowing four earned runs in each of his outings at New York and at Philadelphia. In the latter start, he surrendered five runs in the first two innings -- two of them unearned because of a J.J. Hardy error -- and watched as Phillies starter Cole Hamels retired the first 18 batters he faced. Suppan makes his offseason home in Los Angeles and is 3-3 with a 3.98 ERA in seven career starts against the Dodgers.
COMMENTS:
- The Dodgers continue with their swing-first, ask-questions-later approach against the Brewers, who lead the NL Central but have gone 3-7 in their past 10 games. The suspect defense also should be a factor, with the easily rattled Brett Tomko on the mound.
UPDATE, 6.44p:
From Inside the Dodgers, the lineup:
Pierre, CF
Furcal, SS
Nomar, 1B
Kent, 2B
Martin, C
Gonzalez, LF
LaRoche, 3B
Ethier, RF

Ooh, Pierre batting leadoff! That should shake things up!

Okay Dodgers, let's do this. No more messing around.
You think LaRoche will still walk in the 7 spot?
He seems to have plate discipline. Maybe Ethier can make 'em pay.
here comes bombko
Prince homers. This is what it sounds like when doves cry.
Just tuned in to Baseball tonight and we're already losing. Booooooooo!
At least Martin is in the five-hole.
2-0 Brewers. The more things change....
Hmmm, do you think Tomko is pitching around Fielder?
Hardy. I mean Hardy.

Wow, that called third strike on Counsell was not even close to the strike zone, acc to mlb.com gameday. Sorry, counsell(not really)!
Suppan owns us tonight.
SOS....
Man, they say the camera adds 10 lbs., but Fielder and Estrada are huge!
Weeks just drove in 2. I'm sure Tomko appreciated that!
WTF? Turn this game on and it is 8-0. Damn, this sucks.
Did the Dodgers leave their bats in Anaheim? Oh, wait. . .
First place...drifting...away....
Was anyone else hoping Pierre was hurt on that HBP
