As I struggle to keep my internal organs working, I'll fill you in on this weekend's box office results. Simply put, Shrek made Rodriguez bucks, while the Dodgers were hovering at Jason Phillips nickels. Three games. Four runs. Apparently interleague play inspired the Dodgers to do their best Kansas City Royals imitation.
Weekend | Top movie | Wkend gross ($MM) | Dodgers’ runs scored | Runs x 3.5 multiplier | Wkend winner |
May 4-6 | SpiderMan3 | $148.0 | 0,4,6 (10) | $35.5 | Spidey |
May 11-13 | SpiderMan3 | $60 | 2,7,10 (19) | $66.5 | Dodgers |
May 18-20 | Shrek3 | $122 | 1,2,1 (4) | $14 | Shrek |

It's not much of an imitation, then. The Royals are 6-4 over their last ten games, and won their interleague series against Colorado; the Dodgers are 5-5, and, well, you know what happened over the weekend.
By the by, the chardonnay was very tasty.
I'd argue that the Royals did a bad Royals imitation.
Nice Photoshop!
It is a Photoshop, right?
I like the Dodgers' strategy - don't use up your runs scored on a weekend Shrek will clobber you anyways. And nice photo - Shrek has a huge strike zone.
not my pic. Found it - bostondirtdogs.boston.com
With four runs, the Dodgers couldn't even have beaten Music and Lyrics. Or even the Lyrics part on its own. Pathetic.
Rob, congrats on the sweep, but next time I hope there's a black fly in the Angels' chardonnay.
