Giants Introduce Zito

"Hello, Dodger fans. I come to haunt you at a rate of at least $1 million per win."

The Giants held a press conference to introduce Barry Zito, whom sfgiants.com writer Rich Draper describes as a "28-year-old left-hander with matinee-idol looks":

Oh, there are some downsides for Zito. His buddies in Southern California were always Dodgers fans, and it was a shock to them when Zito signed with their archrivals.

Did he ever get an earful.

"They were all thrown for a loop," said Zito. "They said, 'I can't believe I'm going to root for the Giants.' I know the rivalry is very heated, but I look forward to instigate any type of drama or animosity, especially with my friends."

"I can't believe I'm going to root for the Giants"? Sounds like Zito's buddies aren't real Dodger fans.

Also from the article:

"Seeing this jersey makes it all hit home," said Zito, showing off his No. 75 uniform during his formal introduction. "There's no place I'd rather be than right here. It's a good blend of the familiar and change."

How that quote reads to Sons of Steve Garvey:

"Seeing this jersey makes it all hit home," said Zito, showing off his No. 75 uniform during his formal introduction. "There's no place I'd rather be than the team that outbid the Mets by $51 million. It's a good blend of the familiar Bay Area chicks I like to bang and change in my paycheck."
