#WordCrimes

Sometime last week, I posted a GameThread while I was rushing out the door. And later, on my mobile phone, I looked at the GT and noticed that I had forgotten to add a close parentheses. And it pissed the crap out of me because I wasn't anywhere near a computer, and Blogger Mobile really sucks, and I wouldn't be able to fix it until days later.

At the first opportunity, I added said parenthetical mark.

Today, I found the video for Weird Al Yankovic's "Word Crimes", set to the tune of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," over on Gawker.

I know that being excited about a Weird Al video just underscores how out of touch I am with pop culture.

But damn, it's funny. (And beautifully animated!)

Everybody shut up!

:-O

And from the same album, here's Weird Al's "Tacky" (set to Pharrell's "Happy").

Edit from Nomo: Killed the autoplay. Yeesh.

All respect to "Weird Al", AKA Banana Man

Weird Al remains relevant. Otherwise he wouldn't get permission for these awesome parodies.

A week later, I am still chuckling at the assonance of "you would not use 'it's' in this place!"

So well done.
