You Don't Mess with the Faberuben

Winner winner chicken dinner!

Although nobody got out alive, rbnlaw stayed alive the longest, thus making it 2 in a row for the FB-rbn alliance (keep in mind he came in 2nd last year). Looks like we might have a dynasty on our hands.

Congratulation rbn - here's the chicken dinner you won:

Seriously, we're sending you a KFC gift card. So email us your mailing address and we'll ship it off to you. Now, off to the pub, all of you!

RBN: Good job. I'm not a chicken man, I'm a turkey man.

Double shot of Wild Turkey please.

Two thoughts...
I'm the only survivor (and participant) of the Double Down challenge.

KFC became Kentucky Fried Chicken again after they reached a financial settlement with THE STATE OF KENTUCKY. Apparently they had trademarked the name. So strange.

In other news, the number 11 is claiming copyright infringement on the Double Down.

Congrats rbnlaw! I'll be toasting your win with some scotch today as well.

Hey, I ate a Double Down and lived.

So far.

Is "rbn" really pronounced "ruben"?

MR. F said...

Next to Josh S.'s picture of the Double Down is an ad for having a tiny belly...

Josh S. said...

@Mr. F: I always pronounce it "Robin" in my head. At SoSG Fest, I think Sax said it as "R-B-N" when he was lamenting rbnlaw not being there.

Eric Karros said...

If it's rbn on his own, I pronounce it "Arbian," meaning of or deriving from Arby's. But with the fb prefix, it's faberuben.

MR. F said...

Okay. I usually go for "r-b-n" in my head.

Mr. Customer said...

Due to my well-documented love of umlauts, my brain reads it as Faberüben.

MR. F said...

Then how come your alias here isn't "Mr. Cüstomer"?

Wicks said...

good work rbnlaw toy put me "underground" literally!

Steve Sax said...

@Josh S: I did indeed spell out the R B N part. Beats me how that part is pronounced.

I'm down with umlauts as well, btw.

One day when I was chillin' in Kentucky FriedChicken
Just mindin' my business, eatin' food and finger lickin'
This dude walked in lookin' strange and kind of funny
Went up to the front with a menu and his money
He didn't walk straight, kind of side to side
He asked this old lady, "Yo, yo, um...is this Kentucky Fried?"
The lady said "Yeah", smiled and he smiled back
He gave a quarter and his order, small fries, Big Mac!
You be illin' RBN

@Mr. F

Actually, I'll accept Herr Käufer, but Mr. C is more fan-friendly

Damn. A whole thread discussing me and my handle (it's R B N, as in initials), and I'm out of range.

I'm definitely down with the Double-Down. My kids are down with the popcorn chicken. I hate cole slaw.

Order up at the bar dudes and dudettes; the tab closes at game time. I can't afford to drown everyone's sorrow.
