Scoreboard Watching: August 5 NL West Games

Jeff Francis (4-3, 4.44) of the Rockies, a team 1/2 game ahead of the Dodgers in the NL West and NL Wild Card standings, goes against this strange kid named James McDonald in Pittsburgh. McDonald, 0-1/8.22, seems really familiar... First pitch 4:05p.

The Giants' Timmah Lincecum (11-4, 3.10) goes against Jair Jurrjens (3-4, 4.62) of the Braves in the first of four games at Turner Field. So it's the hair vs. the Jair. Try not to stair. Accuscore in the WSJ says the Braves will win, 3.6 runs to 3.5; I'm pretty confident that that won't be the final score. First pitch 4:10p.

Yeah! If anyone was going to score half a run, it would be the Dodgers.

If any team was going to lose by a tenth of a run, it would be the Dodgers.

And if anyone wants to see the Dodgers tonight let me know :) Lawn watering duties are preventing us from attending the game. Free Field Tickets (2)to whoever might be interested

Sorry, Betsy. I have baby's first birthday planning to do tonight. As always, though, you're awesome for offering.

Also, I'm sorry I didn't make it over to that side of the room to chat with you at SoSG Fest.

JMac Ks 5 of 6 in the first two innings, now has a 1-0 lead thanks to a Garrett Jones homer.

I don't know the Pirates announcers, but one of them is already a total JMac homer. He's already busted out the "I'm loving it" line.

3-0 Bucs now.

No no-no for James, but 6 of his 8 outs so far are Ks.

If he doesn't melt down after three innings, were the Dodgers using him wrong?

@Josh - If it's the play-by-play guy, that's Greg Brown who can be rough though he is less of a homer than his predecessor, Lanny Frattare. If it's the color guy, that would be Steve Blass (of the eponymous disease fame). You can probably guess how excited he gets about pitchers with decent control.

Timmeh sweatin' like...Padilla. He's melting in the heat. Never thought I'd say it, but Come on Braves!

Sf-atl tied at 2

bucs up 4-0 on the rox

I'm watching the Braves-Giants game on tv. Crossing fingers they remained tied for 15 innings.

Also, the Giants are offering an ugly orange mesh Giants shirt. Whatever the Dodgers are, their giveaways are waaaaaaaay nicer.

5-0 bucs but rox are threatening and jmac is gone

still 2-2 sf-atl

Timmeh just gave up a homer to make it 3-2. Sweatin' like a whore in church.

Timmeh chased, losing 3-2. Suck it, hippy! And wash your hair!
