Seasons come and seasons go, but Ronald Perranoski remains in our consciousness. He is the answer to yesterday's puzzle.
Here are the clue answers:

Reading down the diagonal from top left to bottom right will reveal the puzzle solution.
Congratulations to UBragg, Dusty Baker, Jason, Josh S, Keven C, Quad, Rbnlaw, and J Steve. And a big thank you to Mr C for, quite frankly, a pretty incredible crossword puzzle. I don't know how one goes about making something like that. But then again, thanks to Mr C, I didn't need to know how.
Updated rankings to post soon. Next Puzzle Monday, Sept 13, 7am. See you there!

Crossword puzzles are loads of fun. Nice job creating this one Mr C. Just one question: What happened to the clues for 6 and 43 Down?
Yeah, the missing 6 down ("elbow") had me convinced for a little bit that the Dodger was Kuo.
Also, the word "all" appears above the word "star" on the left side of the puzzle, furthering my Kuo misdirection.
Glad I wasn't the only one thrown off by this.
I took the theme of the puzzle (Hitting for the cycle) and combined it with the missing clues (6+43=49, hence 1949). This led me to Gil Hodges who hit for the cycle that year for the Brooklyn Dodgers. I learned a cool piece of Dodgers history, but didn't solve the puzzle with that one.
Curious. Both clues were there in the original Google Document. 6D was "Humerus-Ulna Connection" and 43D is "Qatar Capital". Something lost in translation then. I suppose it wouldn't be a Mr. C puzzle if it went off without a hitch.
That does give me a really cool idea for a puzzle, though. Thanks, Quad!
I also enjoyed the simplicity of 65 across. I wish the Sunday crossword puzzle could throw a few in like that.
No problem Mr C!
@Jason: But it's pronounced ah-wah-RAY.
@Jason
Geez, I guess I need a proofreader on staff.
Shoot, I had gotten CRDS SEE OOTE NRA as my answer. Darn it.
Nice work, Mr. C!
Hmmm, not sure what happened to those missing clues either! But they were in Mr C's original google doc.
Humbug.
