Keepin' the Flame Burning

Lost amidst the hullabaloo about the election of Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken, Jr. to the Hall of Fame was the fact that one Steven Patrick Garvey received 4 votes as he exhausted his eligibility. The Sons of Steve Garvey stand proud of #6's accomplishments. And let's face it, "Sons of Jerry Reuss" just isn't as mellifluous.

A bad year for both Steve and Orel. Sons of Orel Hershiser?

You know these are just MLB.com's reporters' votes. Garvey picked up 115 of the BBWAA votes. Orel got only 24 BBWAA votes.

Well, you didn't expect me to be accurate with numbers, did you? Can I use the "faulty intel" excuse like the White House did about the WMDs?

Orel, methinks "Sons of Ron Cey" rolls off the tongue a bit smoother.
