Scoreboard Watching: Barves @ Gnats, 1p
Our game doesn't get off until 6p, but there is of course another important game in the NL West race being played between a recently-reeling Atlanta Braves (71-55) team and an unfortunately-surging SF Gnats (71-55) team. The equation we're looking for: (Dodgers win + Giants loss) x infinity.
Timmeh isn't pitching today (Madison Bumgarner is), but I'm still going to give him a hard time:
Feel the hate, brothers and sisters, and Go Braves!

Why is the German Wine Institute so interested in Timmeh?
Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN
Nice catch by Francisco Peguero, as he retreats on a deep fly by David Ross, and this saves a couple of runs to end the first here in SF.
The Giants are winning with guys named Francisco Peguero.
@ Orel
That was the credit for the image used, not for the GIF.
3-0 Bravos!
"The next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wank."
Oh wait, I read that wrong.
Cheeky hit by Reed Johnson.
ps-Johnson!
I don't really get The relevance of the picture it I love the SWGT. Thanks Dusty.
Unless those are grapes of wrath? hateHateHATE
I gave him a wank on the upcoming game thread, so done and done,
3-0 ATL through four
@sax
Extend your pinky, have a sip, and search for the relevance of the image (or check the image title to determine the variety)
Per MLB Network Radio:
"We will carry the @Dodgers press conference live at 5:30pm ET/2:30pm PT. Listen in on XM 89, Sirius 209 or online: siriusxm.com/mlbnetworkradio"
Stubbs is in!
1. Stubbs
*makes party*
Minor falling apart here in B5; Pence HBP followed by a Arias 2B and a Belt FC. 3-1 ATl, one out.
Minor out of the 5th with only one run allowed. 3-1 Bravos.
Answer sent!
Only Minor damage, apparently. 3-1 through five
Sax is in!
1. Stubbs
2. Sax
Bill Shaikin @BillShaikin
Colletti expects Crawford to return in April or May.
Minor with a one-out double in the seventh! Still 3-1 ATL.
Sax is already drunk on red wine
(sorry, Deutsches Weininstitut)
^ entschildigung
Minor scores on a Bourn RBI single! Ashley Madison is done. 4-1 ATL, T7
4-1 Braves
Colletti expects Crawfish étouffée
Gotcha, sir stubbs
Kontos blows the comebacker play, Prado reaches, Bourn to second. Kontos is getting yanked after one batter.
Minor is out. Gnats threatening a two-out rally.
Chad Durbin in. Vagiants on 2B and 3B.
Double down the right side for White, two runs in. 4-3.
Fuck Durbin, you suck
Out of the inning. Jints down 4-3 as we go to the 8th.
Listening to Durbin choke here to Theriot makes me feel better about our bullpen
On to the eighth! 4-3 ATL
I'm gonna scooby doo like crazy
Don't blame me, I voted for Kontos.
Nice reference, Orel.
Ross with a leadoff double in the eighth!
Reed Johnson and hs rodent of a goatee K for out #1
Braves are rancho with one out.
Base hit, but Ross held at third. Braves rancho ardiendoing.
Pastornicky PH
Paster grounds up the middle for force out at home. Is he Loney in disguise?
45
Pastornicky: icky. Ross nailed at home for out 2
@DB: Pastornicky can't be Loney as he didn't GIDP
Well, he brought a good rancho opportuity to its knees with a lame dribbler into the infield. So the Loney comparison fits.
5-3 on a bases loaded walk.
Uggla's conical neck scores on the bases loaded walk.
Another bases-loaded walk. 6-3 better guys.
6-3!
Walks for everybody!
Two straight bases-loaded Affeldt walks make it 6-3 Braves!
Braves radio broadcasters are talking about the AT&T scoreboard in between innings. Apparently they showed highlights of the little league world series where Petaluma (in the bay area) came back to tie it against Goodwinsvile TN in the sixth, at 15-all. SF Chardonnay-loving crowd goes nuts. Then the graphic switches to show Goodwinsville up 24-15 in the seventh.
Crowd is stunned.
Johnson goes up to get the fly ball. Two out in the bottom of the 8th.
And we go to the 9th with Bravos up by 3.
Two out
I am clearly delayed
And, my feed is late
There's some really shitty pitching going on the in LLWS.
Freeman lead off single, then steals second
Freeman scores on a base hit by old friend Reed Johnson. 7-3 Barves.
Johnson knocks in Freeman with a broken-bat double
7-3 Atlanta
Fuck I am so late here! I may as well be in fucking Old World
7-3!
@Sax
Who are you, Dylan Hernandez? I think he just tweeted about the Piazza blockbuster trade.
Oyster Pubes having a tough time at the plate. I like it. Pence flies out. Two down.
Posey Ks, Pence flies out
SF fans still cheering like Charley Steiner's who can't tell a fly ball from a HR
Braves take the game 7-3. On to the GT now.
Scooby Dolby doo! Lead down to 2.5
2.5!
@Sax
Is that like a Scooby Doo episode in 5.1 surround sound?
