Clayton Kershaw (9-6, 2.88) vs. Mark Buehrle (9-10, 3.70).
Lots of storylines in this one. Hanley Ramirez' return to Miami. Ramirez' SS successor, Jose Reyes, on a wild hitting streak...(wait, scratch that). Cy Young Award winner Kershaw versus perfect-game thrower Buehrle (who hasn't won in his last four starts). One game separating the Dodgers and first place (the Giants host the Rockies at 7p).
But the only real plot is this: we've got 50 games left in this season. If the Dodgers are going to make a run, getting a headstart on some wins during the front end of this ten-game road trip is critical, as we'll continue on next week for four games in Pittsburgh and three in Atlanta (followed by a three-game series with the Giants at home).
Baseball Prospectus' Playoff Odds has us at a 27.9% chance of making the playoffs, by far the worst percentage of any of the second-place NL division teams (we are 3.5 games out of the second wild card spot). We need to have a good weekend, carrying on the momentum of our last game against the Rockies, rather than the impotence of the prior two games. Let's hope we can knock the lights out in Marlins Park. Or at least knock the lights out of that left-center field monstrosity.

Does anyone else think the Bourne Legacy tagline reminds one of the old Lays potato chips tagline?
Oh shit, east coast swing! That's right!
Just like Boys II Men!
It's long overdue! But now, Philly's slammin'!
Philly was never really slammin
Schooly D tried his best though
Fuck. Totally forgot about this whole so-called "time zone difference."
Let's see if the dodgers forget, too
OK, work time can go ahead and be over now.
It is for meeeeeeee
I will be with AC tonight.
We will be nowhere near the game, or likely even a television.
Charging the phone up now...
Get a room!
GO US
(works for Dodgers and Olympics)
Burly might be on his game today.
Well hello, very disappointing first inning!
That would be unfortunate, but not unexpected.
And, there goes the monstrosity.
Siddown, Giancarlo!
LF Victorino (S)
2B Ellis
CF Kemp
SS Ramirez
RF Ethier (L)
1B Rivera
3B Hairston
C Ellis
P Kershaw (L)
Back-to-back singles by Kemp and HanRam.
Back to back shit ABs followed.
Now would be a great time for Rivera to dial down the suck.
Or fuck it up. Either way.
Collins: "They're happy with Carlos Lee here."
Weren't they BEGGING teams to take him at the deadline?
Giacamo Stand-in.
SIDDOWN, GIOVANNI RIBISI!
This offense is unworthy of your pitching, Clay.
We need to score here.
We did.
THANK YOU MATTY
Bison RBI-double! Tie game!
Oh thank goodness, a run.
HanRam looked at two good pitches to drive.
In play, run(s)!
HANLEY
We're winning!
Ethier way off balance on that AB.
Home Juan! 4-1
In play, run(s)!
River-waaaaaah?
Wow Juan.
Winning is good!
I would like to be winning by more though.
I will accept no less than 7-1.
Dammit, they have something going.
45
Don't give it back, Clayton!
Gorkys? Really, Clayton?
That was not so good.
I can live with 1 run. Now end this.
*heart resumes beating*
Wow. Minimal damage. 4-2 Dodgers.
Jesus, Clay. What gives?
Minimal damage.
Kershaw != automatic out
Rancho Hanliendo!
IBB Kemp to RA. Make 'em pay, Hanley!
I really pretty much disagree with anything Lyons says.
wheeeee!
We'll take it!
Suck it, Marlins!
Hansurance!
HanRam = 14 RBI in 15 games as a Dodger. Yeah, that was a good trade.
Dare I head to the booze store? Is the lead safe?
C'mon, Andre!
Man Andre what is up.
Andre's facing a lefty
Oh that's his excuse for everything!
Lyons tweeting WHILE AN INNING IS IN PROGRESS.
Mattingly placing more trust in Wright.
Mattingly seems to have adopted Torre's habit of keeping high-ish pitch count starters in to start a new inning in the hopes they can get out of it easily, but with a short leash.
The Lyons hate is strong. Personally I don't mind him at all.
@Orel
That does not compute.
Yeah, I know.
RA for MIA.
God dammit this means Loney gets in the game.
RIvera to RF. Belli in. Loney at 1B.
Belli 0-2 to start this AB. Finish it off, Belli!
(unpuckers)
I think the thing that bugs me the most about Lyons is that he's such a rent-a-broadcaster homer. The only difference between him and Mark Gubicza is a cheesy red polo shirt.
Lyons has a cheesy blue polo shirt.
Same thing holds for all the Prime Ticket guys. Only Vin gets away with being neutral.
Exactly, Nomo.
Exactly, Orel. You could mix and match and it would hardly be noticeable.
Nice inning, BellyWelly!
Is there a kid wearing a Hanleywood t-shirt at the game?
Is Kenley bored? K, fly out, double, walk.
In play, out(s)!
...and we're done here!
Awesome shot of HanRam with his little daughter, who is wearing a tiny Ramirez - 13 jersey. Great game today for him!
Did the camera catch Donnie signaling to ANgel Hernandez that he (Donnie) was wrong on that call at 2B?
I could sure go for some MSBs right now. The tiny burgers, not the tiny baseball players.
Frisco's losing! Huzzah!
Giants with first and third, one and they show off a bit of their own offensive ineptitude. Lincecum can't lay down the bunt and Crawford gets caught stealing to end the inning. :D
