Post-Game 118 Thread: Satisfactory

DODGERS 9, PIRATES 3

It's been a while since we've seen that.  Dodgers win behind eight strong innings from Kershaw and a rejuvenated offensive sense of purpose. Oh yeah, the Giants lost, on both the micro- and macro- levels, as well.

It's a good day to be a Dodger fan, boys and girls.

Well, even more than usual!

Crap. If my math is right, beating the Pirates tomorrow moves the Gnats into a tie for the second wild card.

Then again, I'll take the half game of lead padding.

From here on out, we gotta count on the Pirates to play as good as they have been all season while the Giants to play worse since they no longer have MeLOLky.

I'm pretty sure that St. Louis and Pittsburgh are tied now, Gnomes, so it would take both a Pirates and Cards loss to give the Giants a share of the WC.

Stubbs: I'd offer to do tomorrow's GT, but it seems we have a pillbox hat streak going. Let me know.

I can whip it out tonight...and I'll do tomorrow's GT also.

Stubbs: I see what I did wrong. Today's Cards game hadn't gone final when I looked at the standings.

Man, Ervin Santana is more enigmatic than Billingsley.

Also, the Indians are not very good.

We definitely appreciate the latin flavor here, Alex. Normally, we rely on AC's expertise as our Latin America Bureau Chief Correspondent, but no one has seen him since the company picnic when he got liquored up, stole a meter maid's trike, and took off for Ensenada.

We thought he was joking, but now I'm not so sure...
