The box score is going to show only one error for the Cubs, but the fact was that the Dodgers got two gifts tonight thanks to shoddy glovesmanship from the visiting Cubs. Joe Mather let Matt Kemp's fly ball go off his glove and over the wall in center, allowing the Dodgers to take a 2-1 lead in the fourth. And then Starlin Castro let a Hanley Ramirez grounder go right under his glove, scoring Shane Victorino (who had doubled, later advancing on an Andre Ethier FC) with two out in the eighth.
That was all she wrote thanks to a shutdown eighth from Ronald Belisario and a ninth from Kenley Jansen. Clayton Kershaw went seven and gave up one run with 7 Ks over 112 pitches. Dodgers remain a half-game back of San Francisco, who again beat the tar out of the Rockies in Denver; Arizona dropped to three games off the lead after being shut out in Philly.

Thanks, Saxomophone.
The best part of the Kemp HR highlight is the fan glove rising from behind the wall.
That was Juan Uribe.
Oh and we make Saturday party!!!
@Paul: LOL. Though The only hope a fat guy like Uribe is going to get is through beer
@Gnomes: totally agree with you btw on that highlight
I just added quotes in the headline. I don't know if they really help or not. I was trying to get to the pronunciation of "Cubbies" like "Cubb-eeeeeees". But maybe that's how I should have written it. I don't know. I think I'm overthinking this. I won't be able to sleep now. Damn.
Just watched the video of the Kemp HR. Impossible to tell at the yard whether it went off Mather's glove or the top of the wall. I don't know how Vin called it without a replay.
I'll be taking Mrs. Eugenio & the ankle biter tomorrow, field level 47 in the shade. Hit me up for booze!
Sweet! Sorry I will miss you ES! Safe driving

Two Sundays in a row, road tripping to watch the Dodgers attempt to sweep a team! This time, I'm bringing the Ankle Biter, she is 2-0 this season!
