Clayton Kershaw (4-3, 2.42) vs. Vance Worley (3-2, 3.07).
It may not be reasonable for a team that has dropped six of its last seven to start mocking the opposing pitcher in a Game Thread, I know. Especially not since Kershaw certainly hasn't been himself of late (since his CG SHO three outings ago, he's taken two losses over 12.2 IP, giving up 7 ER). Kershaw sports a 0-4 record with a 5.18 ERA against the Phillies, which also isn't good. So yeah, we're definitely the David in this battle.
But that mlb.com picture! I mean, not to make a spectacle of it, but that's a pretty cornea mugshot for a third-year pitcher trying to build upon his 11-3 season last year. Worley, returning from the DL to take the place of Roy Halladay, lens his arm to the bottom-dwelling Phillies, 3.5 GB the NL East-leading Nationals. But Worley is 0-0 with a 13.50 ERA against the Dodgers (4.0 IP, 6 ER), by far his worst team-specific record. I'm betting that the Dodgers lineup makes plenty of contacts with Worley's pitches this afternoon, especially with the probable return of Juan Rivera. Iris my case.
Note: This GT goes back to the :01 launch time, consistent with the last time the Dodgers won a game.

For the record, you posted your last GT at 10:11, not 10:01. I was going to duplicate what you did, but that meant posting at 9:11. I thought that was asking for trouble, so I posted at 9:10.
Let's go all Stan Gable on that nerd.
Gordon - 6
Herrera - 8
Ethier - 9
Rivera - 3
Abreu - 7
Ellis - 2
Hariston - 4
Kennedy - 5
Kershaw - 1
Hopefully the Dodgers won't give me a cataract arrest today.
@Gnomes 1:42p: good call, I didn't notice that. I should have had this posted at 1:06p then!
DAMMIT
Jesus Colorado how many games do the Giants get to play the Cubs at home?
CHC 2, SF 2 through 6
This smells like a 3-2 Giants win. Very smelly.
Rivera up, SVS down.
Guerra to DL, Tolleson up.
@dylanohernandez: "Tony Gwynn Jr. was scratched from the #Dodgers' lineup because of a tight hamstring. Available off the bench."
dammit, SF about to take the lead in the seventh
guerra to DL over what?
@ Saxy
I think Gnomes tweeted something about Guerra going to the DL because of a knee ligament strain.
I am really traveling to Seattle to watch the Topes play.
What's this about Jo Ann Worley playing for the Fill-eez?
Almost all of David Vassegh's questions to Todd Coffey in his pre-game interview revolved around food or eating.
#tooeasy
epale everyone!
you had me at spectacle, Saxy
Epale!
Nice work on the GT Saxy!
LETS DO THIS SHIT!
Kill the Phils.
SF indeed does win, 3-2. Paul was right.
Another hamstring injury? I am thinking Sue skipped hamstring day at team trainer school
Are Paul and Jason going to drink Seattle dry this weekend?
What was that horrendous noise playing when the Phils took the field?
Why is Hairston playing second and Kennedy playing third? Is Kennedy not able to play 2nd?
@Nomo, it's either dubstep or a Phillies fan barfing his Yuengling into a stadium trash can
Terrible AB from Dee. He should go back to the 8 spot
Donny not happy with Loney
Take notes, Dee. Elian didn't make an out there
Elian with the steal
Damn - Elian nearly picked.
Dre takes the walk
welcome back, Juan Rivera
RBI MACHINE!
Polanco has an overly-muscular scalp
Lyons, Philly hated Bobby
Bobby with a single, Dre scores!
Aloysius Jerome strikes out on three pitches
wild passed ball advances the runners to 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs
Jerry grounds out to 2nd. Good guys score 2 in the first. I hope Clayton is excellent Clayton tonight
Bobby with the sliding grab, soaks his shorts
Rivera with the good running foul catch
Polanco has an evil genius mega cranium
Pence lines out to Dre, 1-2-3
Kennedy with the dunker down the left field lines for a double
Clayton gets the bunt down. Worley was thinking third but he kind of bobbled the ball. Polanco was coming in hard for some reason so there wouldn't have been a play anyway
please Lord, don't make rain! this is highly enjoyable
Dee with a grounder to get Kennedy home but Dee beats out the throw!
Phuck the Phiwwies!
3-0 Dodgers
@karina - I agree, maybe later with us in the lead
oof Chooch with a terrible throw but Dee overslides the base
Now the ump is calling everything close to the plate
Chooch grounds out and Dusty's boy flies out to left
Kershaw is on his game today.
And Twiggington strikes out, 4-5-6
Galvis <3
Dre grounds out to second
Rivera pops up to mega cranium
Bobby with a checkswing K
that was within inches of a homer for the Phils.
Mayberry nearly bonks one out
Damn. Kid K gives up the run scoring single. Calm down,Kid.
Dammit karina, that run is yours
sorry karina, it seems like all of your favorites kill us
Worley gets the bunt down, Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute, to second
Rollins pops it to short, hears boos
I'm very sorry to say Galvis is the new Cargo and it hurts very much, because he's a Philly.
@Fred's Brim he's an Aguilas del Zulia star, too :(
enjoy his glove, it's truly special.
Polanco has a big head. His helmet is two sizes too small.
@karina, I am sure he is a fine player but I will enjoy no part of his game because he is a Phillie
There goes the lead.
you gotta be kidding me
shitass popup
What is wrong with Clayron this year?
FUCK
#AJ2KC
Jerry with a slow roller up the middle

Ugh, I get back and it's 3-3. Sucky.
@ FB
Yeah it was a great birthday. i got smashed and thrashed and i believe i ended up face first on the rocks somewhere in my backyard. Somewhere there's a pic.
AK with the error. Two on two out.
My Gameday is all jacked up but it looks like Clayton escaped the one-out single in the fourth?
@Spank: two on two out? what inning are you looking at?
I feel like my gameday might be caught in a timewarp
good pitching and good defense
*sigh*

Joe Slavery in for Worley

@Sax Savory started the inning
I love that the Kings are sponsored by Lemonhead candy.
Did Ethier pop out already? I may be a couple of pitches behind
Elian just grounded to the pitcher
Collins is bad
Dre grounded to second
Dammit, Dre, take a pitch or two
nobody's taking pitches
So the Clippers re-signed Neil Olshey. Until they didn't.
now i'm totally confused. Did Rivera GIDP> Why was that the third out?
argh, damn
Fuck Gameday, fuck gamecast, fuck the gameboy while you're at it. I'm pissed off.
throw strikes, Clayton
thank you
goddammit
@Sax, Elian led off, then Dre, then Rivera. All ground outs
crap
Devils with the power play upcoming. The Staples crowd seems kind of placid.
@Orel was your 'damn' for the triple?
My damn was for the missed shot on goal. But it retroactively applies to the triple.
But it doesn't matter! Dee to #AJ2KC for the out at the plate!
Dodgers with the infield in, Polanco hits it right to Dee who throws home to get Rollins
finish this
Uh oh. 5-on-3 for the Devils now.
attaboy, Clayton
Nomes! how was your birthday? Did your face and rocks meet yesterday?

Scoreless after the first period at Staples Center.
this ump has been working us since the end of the second
heh Lyons with the jab at Russell Martin
call them both way, ump!
Savery belongs on the list with Outman and Balfour.
Bills vs. Lee tomorrow. We need to win tonight!
Do we really still have the best record in baseball? I find that hard to believe
Hairston works the count full....
Backwards K on a...questionable call.
Criminy guys, put up a goddamn fight here
this ump is killing us
Where is the KCAL9 K-Zone?
Did the Avengers take the steam out of Amazing Spider-Man?
It's our pick in the draft! I think Ned Colletti is just booting up his laptop to start some research.
Donnie ejected.
I think Spiderman 3 took the steam out of Spiderman
@Orel RE Ned - applauds
The rain knocks down a potential Victorino HR.
stupid popup nearly went out
Dylan: "With the No. 18 overall pick in the draft, the #Dodgers selected Corey Seager, a high school SS from North Carolina."
wow - looked like Rivera came off first early
Bob Seagar's kid?
Victorino slips while rounding first after his fly out. It'll probably be gifcapped.
Kennedy with a great bunt
Savory makes a nice try at it though
6-foot skidmark? not unlike Shaq's underpants after a trip to taco bell
heyoooo!
Great, Clayton may have hurt his ankle running up the first-base line.
wow, great bunt by Clayton
All class, FB.
FUCK, Clayton is now limping
@Orel - white castle?
this ump loves Savery
Dee took one for the team! Two on, one out.
seriously, what is wrong with Polanco's head? If this was the 'roid era, I wouldn't even ask
Booooo! Charge the mound,DEE!
killKillKILL
youch - sounded like it hurt
Second period starts at Staples.
thank god for the arm guard
Davey laughing at Dee
It looks like Polanco has a case of the Rocky Dennis's.
I think there was a $5 bill clipped to the scorecard that Charlie Manuel handed the ump
Am I the only one who can't wait for the release of the Octomom porno flick?
The Kings are good but man the Devils are sure missing some gimmes. Or at least the hockey equivalent of gimmes.
Did Collins call us the Padres?
Come on Andre!
Wotcher, y'all.
Phucking Bastard.
Damn - bad at-bat from Elian
Quick for President!
When was the last time we got the benefit of a check swing appeal?
Is Kershaw injured? Tweets are scaring me...
Wotcherpale, MR.F!
Dre with a worthless popup
KINGS SCORE!
@Sax looks like he tweaked an ankle, not sure how bad it is
but he comes back out?
What an amazing goal.
Clayton still in there somehow. Mattingly in the clubhouse and unable to tell him no
Kershaw does not look right when he follows through with the pitch. They best keep a close eye on him.
nice play by Kennedy, Mayberry with a gift by swinging
Clayton looks okay.
Collins just said Kershaw has never beat the Phillies or Pirates.
Angels Manager Bobblehead Night?
karina's buddy with a hard-hit single
Yeah, not sure how that's going to go over at Dodger Stadium.
PUBLIC ENEMY NUMBER ONE
big K from K
That was the chippiest, cheap-shottiest single for the Phillies. Bases loaded, two out.
damndamndamn
finish this, Clayton
Clayton approaching 100 pitches.
Phew!
We need some runs
oh no, here's where the game slips away
PHEW!
Kings kill another penalty!
