Via @dodgerthoughts comes a food blog interview with Andre Ethier. Here's the most entertaining exchange from "Chewing the Fat...with Andre Ethier" at phileatsLA:
Do you have any embarrassing places you like to go to? For me, I still love Del Taco and McDonald's...
Andre Ethier: Oh, are you kidding me?...In the offseason, a place that me and my wife go maybe twice a week for lunch because it's quick and easy is the Olive Garden all-you-can-eat soup and salad. I mean, we crush that. We love it. I'll sit there and crush two bowls of pasta fagioli and a couple bowls of salad and a breadstick. That's a perfect offseason day right there because it's quick and easy, and it's good!
But 'Dre saves the day with the canny follow-up:
What I've learned, is it's not always the food, it's not always the quality—it's the people you have at the table. You can have just as good of a meal if you have the right people at the table—it doesn't matter how crappy the food is if you have the right people around you and sitting there, it's gonna be a good meal.

I read that last paragraph like the french guy from that Simpsons who tried to seduce Marge at the bowling alley: "It's not quite breakfast, it's not quite lunch, but it comes with a slice of cantaloupe at the end. You don't get completely what you would at breakfast, but you get a good meal!"
Jacque!
Four onion rings!
Homer: Marge, I want you to stop seeing the Jacques. You can let him down gently, but over the next couple of months I want you to break it off.
Marge: Er, OK, Homer...
Homer: Whew! That was a close one, kids.
