Post-Game 55 Thread: Pap Smear

DODGERS 4, PHILLIES 3

The Dodgers busted out for three runs against Phillies starter Vance Worley in the first two innings tonight thanks to RBI-singles by Juan Rivera, Bobby Abreu and Dee Gordon. But the Phillies answered in the third with an RBI-single followed by a two-run home run by Placido Polanco off Clayton Kershaw.

It was tied 3-3 in the ninth when the Phillies brought in their closer, Jonathan Papelbon. No problem. Gordon hit a triple — his first of the year! — and Elian Herrera singled him in. Ronald Belisario gets the win and Kenley Jansen gets the save. BillingsLee tomorrow!

Dodgers take two shortstops with first two picks. Cory Seager is younger bro to mariners' Kyle Seeger. Logan white sticking to his bloodlines philosophy.

This Kings run is absolutely rediculous.

It's like The Miracle on Ice, but on ice...

Kings four pass goal by Kopitar was a thing of beauty. Kopi to Williams drop pass to Brown, cross ice to Kopi, one time for the goal.

Kings. Unreal.

@Orel (from the GT)

Yes, I think the Avengers did take the steam out of Amazing Spider-Man. (Not that it had much steam to begin with.) After seeing the Avengers and this great Marvel movie universe that has been built up, it just bums me out that Spidey is forced to play in his own sandbox all the way over here. He should be trading quips with Tony Stark. STOOPID LICENSING ISSUES.

But Spider-Man never made a very good Avenger. His quips are better off in a solo title.

@Nic, et al - God damn what a run by the Kings. This is one of the more incredible sports playoffs runs ever. I use got back from a local pub after watching the whole thing. What great energy and passion. And that can describe the team and the fans. #WeGotThis

@Comic Nerds

I've seen the Spidey movie trailer. It made me question another origin story when Spiderman has been fairly roundly addressed on a number of levels, and it stood out as him being in his own universe despite the "other" growing "universe"...so I think you guys definitely nailed the problem threw Spidey. In fact, the trailer mostly turned me off.

The most recent trailer made me think that while they are doing the origin again, it won't be the main focus.

The current Spidey trailer made me think Emma Stone > Snaggletooth.

That said, I loved the first Maguire / Dunst Spider-Man. So maybe in a decade, I'll be thinking Chloe Moretz > Emma Stone or something.
