Hiroki Kuroda (11-14, 3.03) vs. John Lannan (8-11, 3.54).
Weekday holiday morning baseball! If the Dodger offense is still in compensation mode for its complete lack of run support for Kuroda for most of the season, expect them to provide him with a bundle to play with today (they've scored 32 runs in his past four starts). Despite yesterday's walkoff loss to the Braves, the Dodgers are still on a (bread) roll and 32/37 man Matt Kemp remains a bacon of hope. I mean beacon. Sorry, haven't had breakfast yet.

Over/under on the number of times Charley Steiner says "Yoko Ono" when referencing John Lannan is set at 11.
Place your bets.
Not when we take Lannan out in the second inning!
You may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one.

Carroll 2B

Why is Steve Lyons wearing the colors of our opponent today?
Imagine if we actually finish above .500.
Strasburg looks like an elf, according to Mrs Dusty-in-law.
Roll call - where my dawgs at?
Kid K is fired up! And pregnant, apparently.
BULLSHIT! Horrible umpiring - two of those "strikes" were not.
Mini Sirloin Double
Early run!
Hola, Dusty!
Yo, Orel!
Is Strasburg still scheduled to start tomorrow?
Yes, but will only pitch 4 innings.
Sorry, I will be driving but listening on the dodgers radio network...
Just settled into my seats at the game in DC. Sitting 2 rows behind 3rd base.
Ted Lilly is pitching today?
That one was no doubt
Steiner called pop-up I bet
Fuck Victorino
BOOOOOOOOOOOO
Nice one, Jason, haikuing live from the Yard!
It's 0-0.
Two-strike HR - again.
Jason, you're bad luck!
Chef Kuroda serving 'em up.
Jason, are you wearing Dodgers gear?
Are you drunk yet, Jason?
Jason tries haikus
But Kuroda gets hit hard
and Dusty drinks up
That pretty much sums it up, Assassin.
This happened bc of Lyons' color scheme.
The other day Charley did this: "...and it's a home run! A home run! No — it was caught."
Maybe Steiner needs new contact lenses or Lasik surgery. How can he screw up so many calls? And it's not a niggling complaint, either. The moment is lost if the call is not made correctly at first when one is listening to a sporting event live.
Helluva catch by TGJr!
Dodger gear: yes
Drunk: almost
@Jason
Recommend those 28 degree-cooled Miller Lite aluminum bottles to beat the heat.
(cries)
Just for the record.
Sticking to the Sam Adams drafts for them moment, Dusty. May with as weather/beer availability conditions warrant.
Do they have Sam Okt on yet?
Not at the yard, just Boston Lager.
I am concerned with Jason's attendance at SoSG Fest, as it appears to be correlated with Dodgers road losses
Yank-mes and Os, 8-8 in the top of the fifth
Too much offense
Double double (animal style) consumed. Getting back on the road...
At I was at two wins in Cincinnati. Pending today's and tomorrow's outcomes, I am a wash as a jinx at worst.
I'm a sam adams beer man, but those cold Miller Lite's good down good.
I don't like having these morning games. Oh wait, it's after 12.
Beer me!
Fat Tire.
good down good, it is 2:00 in my city,
I meant go down good.
Sax, that a double double with fries animal style, or am I going to have to try the double double animal style.
Is it me or are these guys hungover. They must of gone to an awesome strip club in Atlanta.
Bye,Bye playoff hopes.
Loney time?
They need to cut another guy so these guys can start playing.
They do seem hungover, FV.
It's weird that I'm not and they are. Whoooooaaaa....
@Fernie V: my double double was animal style; I got my fries straight up
Dammit, 7-2 loss. This one is on Jason (kidding)
I still javen't tried animal style fries.
Have you tried them now, Spank?
Just noted this gem of a statement from yesterday's GT:
"I just spent the better part of 2 hours plunking every Giants batter that came to the plate in MLB The Show 11." -- Josh S.
^ Or some thread from yesterday
145 badges. I'm like Colorado closing out a season (not this season, but historically).
That's one thing I like about the mlb.com badges thing: you can join late and totally rock the badge collection, where as if you've "played" for a while it can be a slow (but still fulfilling) grind.
Now, if one could TRADE for other badges--that would be very cool.
By the way, I made it home. Pizza delivery en route. I'm happy.
Damn, Sax, you had In N Out for lunch and will have pizza for dinner? Lucky man you are. Jealous.
SF actually won a game (against the Padres)
but it doesn't matter, as Arizona did too (against the Rockies)
@DB: I think you've still had more beer than me today, so you're in the lead
Maybe I should just start a "what is Sax eating right now" blog and post that news on that blog.
Sax stole the words out of my mouth. . .along with the pizza.
still stuck on 363 badges
Former Dodger Derek Lowe gets pounded, Phils beat Braves 9-0
Only one beer all day, actually.
#ShittyDay
Trayvon Robinson just stole his first base of the year, against the Angels in the sixth inning.
(cries)
@Dusty: You think that's shitty? Talk to Derek Lowe
Let me up the shittiness:
I have to put my cat of 15 years down tomorrow.
So it's a somber time, not a time for beer. But never quote me on that.
@DB Sorry to hear about your loss. I'm sure you have tons of good memories that will keep his spirit alive.
Thanks, DBT. That's absolutely right.
@Dusty: Sorry about your cat. Ugh.
Go have a beer on me.
@Dusty: I shudder a bit to even bring this up, since I know this isn't anywhere near the orbit of your impending loss (but has happened on the same day so I'm going to go out on a limb here)...
...we returned from our trip to find my daughter's fish had died. He was looking sickly before we left. My daughter is very young, so it was pretty traumatic to her: she cried behind the door of her room for about a half-hour, and really felt awful the rest of the day. In fact, my offer to buy her a new fish was met with even more tears, since she doesn't think she fit to care for fish now ("Even though I try, I end up wasting fish", she said). Yikes.
I didn't really care that much about the fish myself but I have to say now I'm freaked out about graduating to a four-footed animal. Holy smokes, this was for a fish! I can't fathom what the loss of a dog or cat must be like.
Oh shit. I hope this silence doesn't mean I've pissed off Dusty.
Sorry bout your gatito,White Chocolate. I had to put my two dogs down within a year of each other a long while ago so I know what's up. It's a tough decision but it's for the best. Like DBT said,Remember the good times.
@Sax
Man, that's a great reminder for me why I don't have kids. I can't imagine having to try to help sort through those feelings for a wee lass.
(consoles Mrs Dusty)
