Wednesday Notes

  • Hearty congrats to Eric Nusbaum, who finds himself among the likes of Malcolm Gladwell, Michael Lewis and, ahem, Bill Plaschke in the 2010 edition of "The Best American Sports Writing" anthology. The Big Announcement (Pitchers & Poets)
  • Vin Scully, on the late Bobby Thomson. Vin Scully recalls Bobby Thomson's HR (Ramona Shelburne, ESPNLosAngeles.com)
  • Andre Ethier will be serving Dodger Dogs at the Union Rescue mission today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. He did it last year too.
  • Manny's rehab starts today. He'll be back just in time to be traded to an AL team. Manny set to embark on rehab assignment (Dodgers.com)

Let's get something good for our relic.

Isn't Manny covered under some antiquities law, and must be repatriated to his place of origin?

We should check with those guys from Antiques Road Show. They should know.

He's a vintage 2006 left fielder with some damage to one of his legs. He's been kept in cold storage for some time. My friend Ned says he still works, and my friend Joe says he's still valuable.

I know I'd be okay with replacing NC with LW. RT @dodgerthoughts: Dodgers get Zach Lee ... will they lose Logan White? http://es.pn/aVWBUo
