Post-Game 121 Thread: No One Here Gets Out Alive, Either

ROCKIES 3, DODGERS 2 (10)

Octavio Dotel WP in the winning run in during the top of the tenth inning, and Reed Johnson is thrown out (by about 40 feet) at home to end the game. The out at home was so bad, I almost wished for Glenn Hoffman at third base coach. Okay, not that bad, but still (go watch the highlight).

Ineffectiveness: This Is My Town.

We should get those two and Bowa to go to right field and take a nice picture in front of the This Is my Town board.

Only fitting.

I'm really disgusted with half of your namesake, KempKershaw.

This organization hasn't been the same since they traded Tony Abreu!!!

I'm crying myself to sleep now. Dusty out.

It was my fault,I posted the lineup for the very first time this season.

@Paul that's the laugh I needed.

I got out alive!

Karina

if you hadn't posted the lineup they would have no hit us and King James arm would have fell off.

You saved us from disgrace and horror. Well from more of it.

I may just start going to 66ers games next year. Sure, the drive's a bitch, but you can sit behind home plate for ten bucks and there's a good chance (given the Dodgers' injury history) that you'll see a big leaguer or two.

Updated the post as I just saw the highlight.

Holy shit. I could have grabbed a beer from a Dodger Stadium vendor, in the time it took between the Rox' catcher Miguel Olivo getting the ball and Reed Johnson lumbering in to be tagged out at home.

The one true highlight was how funny the game thread got.

Juan Love returns! Good to hear from you. Sorry it's under these circumstances (like when people never see each other except at a funeral).

So it wasn't a close play at the plate at all? I had to listen to Charlie Steiner call the play. He made it sound close.

Kyle Baker said...

Put it this way: the camera was fixed on the catcher holding the ball, and we had to wait for Reed Johnson even to enter the camera frame for the inevitable tag.

Check out the gif of Johnson's out on MoKM. Moriyama would not let that die quietly.

I'm surprised there was no gif of Theriot's tag on Kemp's put-out the way kempkershaw was bitching about it.

"He tagged to high"(sniffs)

He doesn't let ANYTHING die quietly.

I think that was my personal "Season's over" moment last night. Sure, there have been a few of them over the last month, but that was the one I chose to go with.

No more criticism. No more head shaking. (Not that I'm particularly guilty of either.) I'm just going to enjoy what's left of Dodger baseball in 2010.

And hey, if they go undefeated in September, then woo-hoo! Free cake!

I believe NicJ said it best in last night's GT:

"It's a team playing out the schedule with a manager counting down 'til retirement. Just let gramps have his fun and shut the hell up."

You mean I shouldn't get all liquored up and pissed off when Broxton throws too many warmup pitches in the bullpen based on an obscure metric that I made up, as ih8colletti mentioned, in my head?
