Post-Game 120 Thread: Zombie Jamboree

DODGERS 6, ROCKIES 0

Dusty Baker and SoSG Sax meet in the bottom of the fifth inning to talk about being killed in Assassins' Circle that day, and all sorts of firepower breaks loose on the field as the Dodgers bat around and score five runs, a relative landslide for this team. Clayton Kershaw throws seven innings of shutout ball and when Kenley Jansen can't find the plate in the eighth, Joe Torre pulls a quick hook to go to George Sherrill for a scoreless eighth inning and Jonathan Broxton for a scoreless ninth. Matt Kemp goes 0-for-3 with a BB on his bobblehead night; Casey Blake was the only multi-hit Dodger. But a win is a win. I'll take it!

Blame Sax and Dusty! We'll be accepting donations for our contributions to this victory via Pay Pal.

Damn! the angels lost again today. The LAD's and The LAA's are in a dogfight for the last protected draft pick.

Then again how likely is it that we actually sign any type A free agents this year.

It's about time we spanked someone else.

No disrespect to Bobby Thomson, but WHY is the 'Shot Heard 'Round the World' still trumpeted as important today?

Granted, the home run was the end of a great pennant race, but the Gints LOST the 1951 World Series in the only WS with DiMaggio and Mantle. This is like praising second place-

I think Willie Mays' catch in Game 1 of 1954 WS (the last time the Giants won the WS tbh) was more impressive. People like home runs, but that play stopped the Indians _and_ the Gints swept that series.

(funny part is, only the freakish dimensions of the Polo Grounds made both of these possible.)

Praising second place is what Giants fans do.
