Game 122 Thread: August 19 vs. Rox, 7p

Ted Lilly (3-0, 1.89) vs. Jorge De La Rosa (4-3, 4.99).

COMMENTS: Well look who's back. Can't get enough of my lovin', eh? Even I'm starting to think you might be one sick puppy. But hey, I'm not here to judge. If excruciating humiliation is what floats your boat, I'm here to give you what you want. One agonizing defeat, coming right up. Open wide!

BULL MOOSE RELIES ON JOHNSON FOR VICTORY

MR. F said...

I don't listen to happy music so I can't share a celebratory song.

Paul said...

Even the losers get lucky sometimes- Tom Petty.

Dusty Baker said...

@MLASF

I don't hate that Katy Perry song. In short, I'm hooked on it. Good summer crap.

Dusty Baker said...

@Mr F

Care to share any Bauhaus selections with us? Maybe some obscure Love & Rockets?

Paul said...

Neeebs would post something from the cranberries if he was around.

NicJ said...

Steve Lyons, a bench player for most of his career thinks the bench guys should play more. Shocking.

Dusty Baker said...

Neeebs is listening to Pat Boone right now.

#LureHimOutOfHidingPost

Paul said...

Who is a bench player anymore on this team?

NicJ said...

@Paul, Matt Kemp.

Dusty Baker said...

KempKershaw, once again snatching despair from the jaws of joy:

"@rbaly79 Trading away cost-controlled young assets for at best tiny gains when you won't make the playoffs is typical of the Dodgers. Sigh."

Josh S. said...

In other news, I finally had to unfollow @truebluela too. (Even though I love the site itself.) He, Chad, and MSTI had turned into the Dodger tweeters version of Mean Girls.

NicJ said...

If the prospects we trade away are so great how come the pirates, who have most of them still blow?

Dusty Baker said...

I know, Josh.I really like Eric Stephen and respect his site, but he has been sucked into the negativity and I just can't stomach it. Former SoSG reader I_Alivandi as well.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

But Delwyn Young has so much potential!

Josh S. said...

A prospect who gets traded away and does well in someone else's farm system doesn't really matter, unless you're a scout or a GM.

NicJ said...

feeling you on that one josh.

How you are shocked every time torre puts out a lame lineup is beyond my comprehension. He has been doing it for almost three years now and they act like its going to magically change one day.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

Anybody who tells a commenter to kill himself because that commenter does not like his favorite ballplayer has serious issues.

Josh S. said...

OMG Torre said Kuo would have started the 9th. Time to burn down the internet!

Paul said...

You know what is really cost controlled?

Really Average Unproven Prospects.

Dusty Baker said...

KempKershaw just ripped "casual fans." Meaning, seemingly, anyone who doesn't agree with his opinion.

NicJ said...

this place has really degenerated ever since the Sons left us unsupervised. They used to step in and tell us to cool it on the other blog bashing.

FREEDOM

Dusty Baker said...

Well said Paul.

MR. F said...

Where is KempKershaw's soapbox?

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

KempKershaw says that it's typical of the Dodgers to trade for veterans when they won't make the playoffs. How would he know? We haven't missed the playoffs for three years!

Dusty Baker said...

I'm more bashing bloggers' tweets than anything else. Not the blogs themselves. It's like they have 140 characters to find a way to be the most negative, spiteful, know-it-alls in the history of humankind.

Dusty Baker said...

These Are Our Bitches: Colorado

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

Agreed, Dusty. Though I've lost a lot of respect for MOKM over the last few days.

NicJ said...

very true DB, i still enjoy most of their blogs.

Dusty Baker said...

Yeah MOKM is another animal.

NicJ said...

Armchair GM.

Paul said...

I might stop following ih8Colletti.

I mean he had great insight at first. But now I think he is in it for the groupies and blow.

Dusty Baker said...

Would be fun to go undercover on them and wind people up... *strokes beard*

I'll travel as "Underhill."

NicJ said...

get your hands off casey, DB!

NicJ said...

whats a casual fan anyways? i go to 15-20 games and watch pretty much every other one. I Dont have our entire farm system tattooed on my back with hearts. Am i a casual fan?

Dusty Baker said...

That makes you a rank amateur, Nic, with no right to entertain any differing opinion on trades or lineups. Be lucky I'm even talking to you, rookie.

NicJ said...

understood.

Neeebs said...

Tonight its the Flaming Menudos playing, "Any day but Sunday."

NicJ said...

with the season all but over its amazing people on dodgertalk still call and complain about bunting.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

Anyone who does not swoon at the sight of Carlos Santana, Josh Bell, and Andrew Lambo is a casual fan.

Josh S. said...

Andrew Lambo swoons at the sight of a bong.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

Suchon just said "pissed" on the radio. Can he do that?

Dusty Baker said...

MDIL: (reading headline) Man injured in Hollywood Tower of Terror drinking incident

Dusty: Cool! They let you drink on that ride?

Dusty Baker said...

It sounded like he got tripped up after he realized he said pissed.

Josh S. said...

Yes! Ih8Colletti worked in my favorite quote EVAH.

I created a monster. I love it.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

Tony Dungy calls Rex Ryan out on swearing, and now Suchon says "pissed off." Coincidence? I don't think so.

Fuck.

NicJ said...

is pissed still a no no?

im sure hannity says it all the time.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

I know piss is one of the seven words, so I assume that translates to pissed as well. But I don't work in the FCC, so what do I know.

NicJ said...

i just remember back in the days they used to bleep out "pissed off" on wrestling and always thought it was weird.

Dusty Baker said...

So they can broadcast Jersey Shore but can't say pissed off. Ain't that America.

Hannity's America, I'm sure.

Paul said...

I use to follow some blogs that had good info but it always ended with "like i predicted" and "I told
you".

I have one dad and that is all I need.

Paul said...

Everyone wants to find the next Pedro Martinez, or Konerko or Karim Garcia.

Wait....

Josh S. said...

Sax: Mostly us being the Lambda Lambda Lambdas to certain other bloggers' Alpha Betas.

Josh S. said...

Or, vice versa maybe, since we keep calling them nerds.

Dusty Baker said...

I'm Lamda Lamda Lamda through and through.
