Wow... I've never been the first commenter.

Just wanted to say nice soap bubble. I've taught my 5-year-old what that pitch is.

Pods' OBP since I defended him: .600
Hid OBP as a Dodger is now .357.

Thanks MrLASF...

I'll be leaving 30 mins. in to go celebrate my son starting K this week, so it's good to get in early. Too bad I was not this quick in AC.

Transitioning directly from the 'Pool-Gooners match to baseball makes me happy, even if the Dodgers are going nowhere and there was an inexplicable own-goal.

karina said...

@Josh S I think you just found your superpower. That or you've just imperiused Pods or the pitchers he faces.

:)

I think I can't make it to the GT,I have to take my grandma to "wardrobe".She'll be on a music video!

karina said...

@RBN & Mr. C:

1) Cole should not have been sent off. That was b.s. If he was sent off, then so should have been Wilshire. But neither.

2) I wouldn't call it a howler for Reina...it was a weird ricochet and he reacted the only way he could, then his momentum caused the goal. Hard to find too much fault.

3) Similarly Almunia couldn't do much about that shot by Eggnog. It was point blank and on the rise...he maybe should have been in better position but I'd blame the defenders for putting him in that position more than I would his goalkeeping.

4) Fair result all told.

Kyle Baker said...

Ethier slacks and can barely even bounce the ball in to the cutoff man.

And they want me to keep paying to ee games?

Nostradamus said...

@dusty

It was a goofy-ass og, and the red was indeed unwarranted. I'm not going to turn up my nose at the draw. Good to see the lads not turtle up when presented with some early adversity.

Nostradamus said...

Think I'll switch to game day on this one. It may become unwatchable.

Josh S. said...

Well, this game certainly is a wet fart.

Kyle Baker said...

@Professor

Thx for the "Fidel" in the lineup post BTW. Alwyas gotta go with that.

Neeebs (The Original) said...

Steve Lyons is an idiot.

Kyle Baker said...

This Kemp bobblehead night is sure going to be a wet fart on Tuesday. Hard to get excited about his season's effort.

Nonetheless, I'll be there.

NicJ said...

Officially switching over to Murray vs Federer in Rogers Cup Final.

NicJ said...

Poor Jay Giilbbons must feel duped. He thought he was going to get to play on a big league ball team.

Nostradamus said...

He did play for the Orioles. It should feel just like old times.

Kyle Baker said...

FB, you're missing all this!

Kyle Baker said...

Lyons just spent 15 minutes telling me that the sun gets in the eyes of outfielders attempting to catch a ball.

Paul said...

I spent the weekend apologizing to the Gibbons tribe that Jay is on my team and they suck (like it was my fault).

The response was that he did play for B'More so no worries.

Kyle Baker said...

Got no beef with Gibby. He's worked his ass off since he got here. More than I can say for certain players.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

If we're going to lose, we might as well screw the Phillies while we do it.

Paul said...

God we still have much of this season left?

Paul said...

how much I mean.

NicJ said...

obviously gibbons wasn't listening to Lyons segment on catching balls in the sun.

NicJ said...

karina said...

Oh boy,just got home.I can't believe this.

:(

Josh S. said...

So, do we have a negative run differential yet?

karina said...

Here it comes the 13 run comeback.

I don't have arguments to whatever my bro is gonna tell me.

Kyle Baker said...

I jumped in the shower and we were down 9-1. I came back in the front room and MDIL said you dont' want to know, it went from bad to worse. I assumed that meant we were down 15 or 16 to 1. When I saw it was "only" 13, I actually was pleasantly surprised.

karina said...

@Professor Dittmore I'm fine, taking my grandma to wardrobe was the highlight of the weekend. She's hot! :)

@Dusty Baker thanks for the recap, I had a busy morning, I guess i'll watch some Premier next weekend, while Calcio starts.

@Neeebs in four years,you'll be a "soccer hippie" like Dusty,Mr C, Rbnlaw and I.

@Paul "I spent the weekend apologizing to the Gibbons tribe that Jay is on my team and they suck (like it was my fault"

isn't this a sign of an abusive relationship?

NicJ said...

draft spot keeps rising.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Take THAT, Philly!

karina said...

I don't know if I want to go through GameDay, to "see" what I "missed".

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Is there a way to see the standings for every team? I want to know where the Dodgers stand in getting a protected pick.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Wait, found it.

We were 15th in the league before today, a half a game ahead of the Angels.

GO ANGELS GO!!!

Was in the car on the way home from son's soccer match (they won) when I turned on the Dodger game in the 4th. When Steiner said 8-0, I promptly turned it off and went back to the music.

I have not been this apathetic since 2006.
I hate it when Jeff Kent might be right.

SUCK IT PHILLY.

NicJ said...

haha, rox just blew a save.

thanks wind.

NicJ said...

No win for Ubaldo.

Eric the Ice King said...

I bet Tom Niedenfueher must be glad Broxton came along to make people forget the big saves he blew.

Eric the Ice King said...

Seems that even though this seems to be a pitching year, relievers didn't get the memo.

Kyle Baker said...

Took a nap.

Looked at scoreline again.

Dodgers still suck.

Surly factor: 4

Sobriety: 100% but sure to decrese soon.

Grill on.

Josh S. said...

I just saw that Jayson Werth has the lowest BA with RISP in the National League.

Awww...he's still a Dodger at heart.

Paul said...

I usually totally avoid the Chronicle's sports section but for some reason I took a look only to find their Plaschke/Simers first line in her column stating "The Dodgers....who?"

it then goes on to call the Padres and Giants the nl west new elite rivalary. Barf. Yeah you guys are over us. "Dodgers" was just the second word of your column and not the first.

spank said...

Did we Win?

karina said...

@Josh "once a Dodger, always a Dodger"

I still don't quit.

karina said...

@Paul let's see what they'll write when the Dodgers become the miracle story of the season.

I like being delusional.

Josh S. said...

Sorry I guys, I have to come clean.

I have a ghost writer when I comment on Game Threads.

Paul said...

I think little Luke was typing abouthow much Sherrill sucks in that pic.

Or the prospects of a double dip recession.

Josh S. said...

I think he may be drawing an analogy between the Dodgers' season and what's in his diaper.

Kyle Baker said...

Cheer up lads and lasses! In his last 6 starts, reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum is 1-3 with a 6.15 ERA. (per @stats_MLB)

Per @MLASF:

"COLLETTI TRADE CARLOS SANTANA THAT BAD MOVE STOOPID COLLETTI ME NEVER FORGIVE YOU YOU GO DIE NOW"

Love this bit. Keep it up; it allows me not to kill Kill KILL those stat-licking whiners on Twitter. Maybe we should start our own Twitter feed that fakes stat-licking whiners, and just say stuff like the above a few times a day?

Paul said...

I must not follow these people. I want to be able to relate or maybe not.

Neeebs (The Original) said...

@DB:

Reason number 73 why I don't use Twitter.

Kyle Baker said...

I would have guessed this was at least in your top five reasons, Neeebs.

Paul said...

So who the hell is @ neeebs?!?

He keeps trying to get me to invest in rare pez dispensers.

Kyle Baker said...

If anyone tries to represent @Neebs, you'll know it's a fraud.

Paul said...

Neeebs lose an e again. Fuck check around the bar.
