It's about time Chrome Dome actually looked human against the Boys in Blue.

Deadspin has another good angle of Holliday's, um, ball handling.

@Josh - And just like that, I've found a new avi.

Did you see this quote from Wainwright?

"That ball got lost in 50,000 white towels shaking in front of Matt's face," Wainwright said. "It doesn't really seem fair that an opposing team should be able to allow their fans to shake white towels when there's a white baseball flying through the air. How about Dodger Blue towels?"

I don't think the Dodgers are the first to use white towels. Don't be a sore loser, Wainwright.

Yeah, I seem to remember a ton of towels over the years, many of which were white. Obviously the Homer Hankies used in the Metrodome (and still are up through the other day's game). And the first Philly/Rox game featured white towels, too.

And for the record, tonight the back of the towels were white but the front was all Dodger blue (Erin, what is that called, Pantone 293 or something? sorry for the esoteria).

@Erin
I shall now call him, "Wah-nright."
Screw 'em. Scoreboard baby!

Erin said...

Right. I was there waving my towel, and 50% of that towel was blue. Quit whining, Wainwright (I like your version of his name, rbnlaw).

And yes, Dodger Blue is Pantone 293.

Dre is showing the camera his jersey. Hilarious!

Erin, I don't know what's nerdier, your knowing what it's called or my remembering your telling us about it 5 months ago. Props to you, Dodger nerd-dom or not!

I haven't jumped up and hit the ceiling since'88.

I know it was during his at bat, but can someone explain to me the Casey Blake wave? Was he doing that to the umpire who called the check swing a strike?

I was listening on the radio and Vin didn't make it clear what it was, or why Blake was doing it; I do remember Vin saying Blake was stoic during that at bat.

Fred's Brim said...

yeah he did a "that's bullshit" wave at the ump and then said "that's bullshit".

you can see it here - Josh posted it earlier

I just noticed Ronnie and Mark's swings are IDENTICAL.
