Game 136 Thread: Sept 1 @ Pirates, 1p

Dana Eveland (0-0, -.--) vs. Brad Lincoln (1-0, 3.42).

Just who is Dana Eveland, and from what farm did he come? Our fancy media guide says that Eveland's not from a family farm in Minnesota, but rather from triple-A Albuquerque, where he has spent the season notching a 12-8 record with a 4.38 ERA in 25 starts. Prior to this year, Eveland amassed a 16-22 record in the majors across five teams and six seasons, with a career ERA+ of 74.

Can a player with a losing career record, making his Dodger debut in Pittsburgh, have enough stuff to win today's one-game series (a make-up game from May 12), not to mention the first of 11 road games? Certainly not if opposing pitcher Lincoln logs a lot of Ks against us this afternoon, I assume; but we can debate that in this thread (please use the conventional basic time schedule 6-3-7-3-4-6-3).

3-0 at the end of a half-inning. I'll take it.

I'm logged in to the gamecast and found it amusing that the video highlight of the game so far is Garland's RBI single!

And the site is appropriately chadmoriyama.com.

3-1 in the bottom of the fourth. Im thinking we will need more than 3 to win.

Ethier with a leadoff walk in the sixth

Miles flies out for the first out

Gwynn with a basehit with Ethier running. Men at the corners, one out

Where is everyone today?

Maybe this game really isn't being played.

Whoops, Gwynn CS at second. Ethier on third with two out and Ellis with a 0-2 count.

where was ethier on the double steal?

Ellis coaxes a walk! Nice job, non-Navarro

Carroll HBP.

If Gwynn hadn't have been CS, we'd have another run. Instead, Eveland is up with rancho ardiendo and two out. Eveland has 2 Ks today.

OZ 2:33p: Ethier was not running.

Eveland flies to center so all of that stuff went for naught.

This State Farm radio commercial sucks. "get to a better state"? You mean, like Hawaii?

This innings shows the difference between a good team having a bad year and a truly bad team.
