Why was the number-four pitcher starting the second game of the season? Randy Wolf couldn't protect the Dodgers' lead in the sixth inning, and the Dodger bats were no-hit for the last five innings of the game. Almost everything that went right in yesterday's Game 1 victory went wrong in today's Game 2 loss—although some things stayed wrong: The Dodgers have struck out 20 times over the first two games. On the plus side, Matt Kemp (2-for-4) and James Loney (1-for-3) remained productive, and Will Ohman and Ronald Belisario made smooth debuts out of the bullpen.
So what can we learn from two games? Just this: Consistency takes time. Oh, and Duaner Sanchez is on the Padres now. Who knew?

I'm still in favor of batting Blake Dewitt as the starter and Casey Blake as the UTIL bench.
I though Dewitt should have played 3B last night. Young is really tough vs righties and I'm not sure Blake can hit in the 8 hole.

I agree with you, DeWitt should be starting.
I'm also rooting for Belisario,not only because i love the fact he's a venezuelan wearing a Dodger uniform, but he's also someone with great talent who happened to have a little bit bad luck.
Last winter, he was the closer of one of the most beloved franchises in the country and he was just lights out. Journalists were making jokes maybe Tiburones wouldn't need Francisco Rodriguez for the closer role. Obviously, he lost the job, but he was the best set-up in the league last season.
I gotta say he pitched more than half of the season on a notorious hitters park.
I think I need a new profile picture with some Dodger blue in it.
Patience my children. Remember that the objective is to win the series. We should analyze AFTER the series is over. Have faith in the blue.
Its only two games in, Casey Blake will find his stride soon enough. The Dodger batters are pressing a little (Raffy, Manny, Russell), except for Loney and Kemp - who look really comfortable at the plate right now. I didn't think DeWitt would even make the opening day roster, with two other infielders on the 40 man that play better defensive short stop than he does. I'm happy for him, and I hope for the sake of this "young core" that DeWitt becomes an integral part for years to come. That said, Casey got one of the better offseason contracts and wasn't signed to play a role off the bench. It takes adjusting to hit 8th in the NL, as you rarely get many good pitches to hit. As soon as those adjustments are made, he'll settle into that spot. Not many team in the NL can boast an 8th place hitter with Casey's resume.
