Post-Game 7 Thread: Radio Radio

DODGERS 3, DIAMONDBACKS 1

  • For those who care, I, SoSG Orel, will be a guest on KABC DodgerTalk tonight at 5:30. Unfortunately (or fortunately, for my nerves), I don't think DodgerTalk is available online. More to come.
  • Rule 7.10(d) of the Official Baseball Rules:
Appeal plays may require an umpire to recognize an apparent "fourth out." If the third out is made during a play in which an appeal play is sustained on another runner, the appeal play decision takes precedence in determining the out. If there is more than one appeal during a play that ends a half-inning, the defense may elect to take the out that gives it the advantage. For the purpose of this rule, the defensive team has "left the field" when the pitcher and all infielders have left fair territory on their way to the bench or clubhouse.
  • Gotta love technology. Started watching the game on television, listening to Vin, walked the dog listening to Charley & Rick on the helmet radio and finished the game at the gym watching Gameday on the iPhone.

i know people like to give torre crap about lineups and using pitchers to little/much, but you have to admit that he knows what he is doing if he can pull that obscure rule out of his pocket. they should of gave the RBI to Torre.

And they say the manager can't score runs.

Orel, you sounded polished and with talking points. I know who the commenters are from alaska and venezuela, but who's from turkey?

Can I download the interview somewhere?

Orel said...

Thanks, Neeebs. I don't know who's from Turkey, but StatCounter tells us someone's visiting from there.

Damon, I'll be posting a transcript soon.

Interesting rule. Apparently, bench coach Bob Schaefer pointed it out to Torre.
