Matt Kemp Starting to Own Center Field

Sure he lost one in the sun yesterday, but then Matt Kemp goes and does something like this today:

Saved at least two runs. His sunglasses remained flipped up, by the way.

In the bottom of the inning, Kemp followed up with this:

And a second home run in the eighth!

From Tony Jackson:

Matt Kemp had a monster day, going 3 for 5 with a double and two HRs, one of them a grand slam. He is reaping the benefits of finally buying into the Torre/Mattingly approach to hitting, something Matty was resistant to for much of last season. This year, he has bought into it wholeheartedly, and the results are undeniable. He is hitting .383 with half of his 18 hits having gone for extra bases. He also has a .434 on-base percentage and a .723 slugging average.

I love the look on DeWitt's face in that last picture, as if he is in awe at the greatness in front of him.

Ken from isportsweb here. Nice website. Thanks for your help in guiding me through the "Bluetopia" festivities and snapping the photos. It was great meeting up with you and trolleydodger and giving me an insight into the Dodger "blogger" world. Keep up the great work.
