Scoreboard Watching On An Off-Day (April 20, 2009)

The Dodgers have an off-day today, but that doesn't mean we can't keep abreast of our NL West divisional rivals...

• First up, Padres @ Phillies kicks off at 4p. Kevin Correia (0-1, 4.09 ERA) vs. Methuselah Moyer (1-1, 6.55 ERA). Pads took the first two games of this series, but Philadelphia managed a comeback victory Sunday with a walk-off Raul Ibanez HR in the bottom of the ninth. The Padres open the day one game behind the Dodgers in the NL West. UPDATE 3:18p: This game has been postponed; makeup date TBD. I have to think this is a good thing for Dodger fans, forcing the Padres to travel to the East Coast later on in the season.
• Later, Rockies @ Diamondbacks is at 6.30p. Jason Marquis (2-0, 1.93 ERA) takes on Jon Garland (1-1, 8.44 ERA). Both teams are coming off of lost series, the Rockies getting pummeled in Los Angeles, while the Snakes dropped two of three to the lowly Giants, including giving Randy Johnson his first win of the year Sunday. Both teams are 5+ games behind the Dodgers, which is about where the idle Giants sit as well.
