Dodgers start Derek Lowe, RHP (8-9, 3.48) vs. Matt Albers, RHP (2-4, 5.76).
Dodgers: 56-45 (1st place NL West, 1.0 GA, L1)
Astros: 43-57 (4th place NL Central, 13.0 GB, W1)
From Dodgers.com, the scouting report on the starters:
Dodgers: Lowe had his worst outing of the season on Thursday against the Mets, giving up nine runs (eight earned) on 10 hits in just three innings of work. Lowe, winless since June 22, made 41 pitches in the first inning and finished with 81 pitches, his shortest outing of the season. Fortunately for the Dodgers, Lowe will be well rested for this one, pitching on six days' rest. He is 1-2 with a 2.76 ERA in four career starts against the Astros.Astros: Albers will make a spot start in place of Roy Oswalt, who will miss a start with soreness in his upper chest. Albers, whom the Astros still envision as a future starter, is 2-4 with a 5.76 ERA over 14 games this year. In his latest big league stint, the right-hander has allowed five earned runs over 11 1/3 innings for a 3.97 ERA.

How the F' do we waste a leadoff triple from James Loney? We suck.
Houston 1, Dodgers 0.
In the fourth, Martin gets a rare hit and Kent walks with one out, and we waste that too with Gonzo and Betemit striking out. WE SUUUUUUUCK
Derek Lowe must be so frustrated at his lack of run support. We basically find ways to take a dump on him every time he starts.
Gameday has the ball that Mike Lamb hit against Lowe up near Lamb's head. Was it really that high?
Lowe escapes the jam. Nice job, Derek.
Why is Betemit (2 LOB, 0-for-2 so far) in the lineup? And why is he batting sixth, ahead of Loney and Kemp (both batting .364)????
I think a good trade would be to trade Grady Little.
This is a 43-57 team here people. 14 games under .500. 13 games back of first.
We should be killing the Astros. What is wrong with this picture?
Derek Lowe leaves after 61 pitches. He cannot get the win. Again.
Uh-oh, here comes the bullpen.
atleast albers is out
Many Dodgers have swung early in the count tonight. And many have gotten quick outs.
Three up, three down in the top of the sixth. Way to get on base, 1-2-3 hitters.
Jeff Kent, yet again, shows why he is rightfully in the cleanup spot. Solo home run, 1-1.
Betemit, you can't even advance the damn runner. You are 0-for-3. What is your deal?
Hang the DJ. He promptly gives up a leadoff home run to Carlos Lee. 2-1 Astros, we're not out of the seventh, and McSlicey is in to pitch.
We are fricking going to lose this game to a sub-sub-sub .500 team. I am going out of my mind.
Dear Astros,
Please, take this game. We don't want it.
Love,
Dodgers
No way, Roberto Hernandez gets three outs without giving up a run.
Let's see if that used up all the Dodgers' luck, or if they've got anything left from the 2-3-4 hitters in the ninth.
Here we go! Juan Pierre leads the 9th inning comeback!
Juan Pierre grounds out on the second pitch. What a surprise. One out.
Martin, dreaming of Alyssa Milano, strikes out on four pitches. Two out.
And Kent flies out to left for the final out. Nicely done, Dodgers. Way to go meekly at one of the biggest run-producing parks in the majors.
I'm going to go get drunk. G'night, everybody.
