Dodgers start Brad Penny, RHP (11-1, 2.33) vs. Jorge Sosa, RHP (7-4, 3.84).
Dodgers: 54-43 (T-1st place NL West, L2)
Mets: 54-42 (1st place NL East, 3.5 GA, W2)
From Dodgers.com, the scouting report on the starters:
Dodgers: There was no sign of the finger blister when Penny returned from the All-Star Game to throttle the Phillies, allowing one run on four hits over seven innings. He finished with a flourish, striking out the last four batters he faced and seven of the last 10. Penny lost his first three starts after the 2006 All-Star break. Penny is 4-10 with a 5.82 lifetime against the Mets.Mets: In his first start since his assignment to the disabled list ended, Sosa pitched well enough to win but didn't. He allowed five hits and two walks and had four strikeouts in six innings, showing no lingering effects of the hamstring pull that put him on the DL. Sosa was battered by the Dodgers in Los Angeles on June 13, yielding six earned runs over 5 2/3 innings.

Let's go Blue! This Son will be at the game, albeit late...
Kemp rocks one! 5-4 Dodgers!
When the Dodgers were down 4-0, it looked bleak. Penny doubles and comes around to score, and the next inning, Loney, Betemit, Ethier, and Kemp all plate in succession to take the lead.
Kemp's three-run HR was so high up in the strike zone, it was ridiculous. He muscled it out of the park--
Martin flies out to left to end the inning. Martin has now made the final out in two consecutive innings.
If it becomes three, I'd be bummed (but at least the Dodgers would have scored at least three more runs).
Sosa is gone after four innings.
That guy in the Degree antipersperant commercial is really hairy.
Has anyone seen Rick Honeycutt's eyeballs? He is always wearing those reflective shades.
Maybe he doesn't have eyeballs.
I know that this is blasphemy, but I have to say I don't mind Matt Vasgersian's game calling all that much. He isn't bad.
Maybe I'm partial to him after playing so much MLB 06: The Show (on which he does a good job).
Fox cuts away to the SF @ MIL game, where Bonds is 0-for-2 with one K.
With a 3-2 count on the 10th pitch of the AB, Bonds walks.
Back to the Dodgers and we've jumped to the bottom 5 with one out. These cutaways suck.
Ron Howard, Tom Hanks, and Alyssa Milano are at today's game.
Betemit walks with two out in the sixth, to bring up Ethier.
Just got back home from yellowstone. Eat it mets
