On the precipice of their first three-game losing streak of the year, the Dodgers sent Chris Capuano to the mound to staunch the bleeding (as my Cub fan friend teased me yesterday via text, "you just lost to a triple-A team!"). And Capster did the trick, not only going strong through seven full innings (0 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 7 Ks), but also lacing a two-run double into the gap to put the Dodgers up 3-0 in the second. Capster shielded us from yet another loss, so to speak.
Bobby Abreu got his first hit as a Dodger (a double); Dee Gordon had a double as well and went 2-for-5 to raise his average to .228. That leaves Abreu (.200) and James Loney (0-for-3, dropping his average to .212) in the Mendoza dust.
We also had our first Ronald Belisario sighting since 2010 (1.0 IP with a K). Jamey Wright coughed up the shutout in the ninth by letting Ian stewart double to the wall. But hey, we'll take it. Let's see if we can get the series win tomorrow...another morning fest at Wrigley.

We have to wait for Sunday for the Kings game 4?Boooooooo
Nicely done, Saxophone.
Nice knowing no one can gain on us today.
Ugh.
My internal contents have been completely transmuted into mucus. There is no other explanation.
Nice.
I feel better after sharing, though.
Rnady Wolf is imploding against the Giants. Mets are still beating the D-Bags, though.
That Gonzalez injury for Milwaukee looked awful, too. Tough to watch.
Another morning fest, but hopefully not a mourning fest.
Diamondbacks lose! RISP in the ninth and they can't score.
Clips win by a point? I need to see these highlights...
Pujols out of the lineup. Told "not to even pick up a bat" by Scioscia.
The Clips survived that game more than they won it. Awful free throw shooting and getting pushed around in the paint again. Rudy Gay missed a jumper as the buzzer sounded.
The Braves have tied it up! ATL 8, COL 8, top 7.
Brave up 12-9! Coors being Coors.
Rain delay!
Call it!
