Post-Game 41 Thread: That's the Way, Uh-Huh Uh-Huh, I Slyke It

SVS launches a 3-run shot into the LFP.

DODGERS 6, CARDINALS 5

Another shaky, but gutty, Bills start (6IP, 8H, 5R, 3ER, 4BB, 7K) was bailed out by solid relief pitching (from Guerra, Lindblom, and Jansen), timely hits, and one MONSTROUS first career home run from Scott Van Slyke.

Dodgers sweep the World Series Champs (on national TV, no less), stand atop the baseball world at 28-13, and are left wondering when the heck the "tough" part of their season is supposed to start.

Getting wins with out best player riding the bench. That's good shit, right there.

That's some gooood shit.

It's also really incredible they way we're winning without Kemp.

I'm still gutted that Body Movin' lost tonight.

In a weekend full of LA playoff bummers, it was great to see the Dodgers roll the Cardinals.

The crowd was electric tonight at the ravine. It was my first game of the season, and what a great game it was!

It was a great crowd, wasn't it, DBT? Packed and full of energy.

On the upside, Clippers lost!

I am getting tired of "gutty" performances by Bills. Guy needs to grow some hair on his curve balls.

Olney's postgame interview with SVS is awesome. First, Matty gets him with a pie to the face, then Dee and somebody else rinse it off. He looks a lot like Dr Steve Brule

I was watching this game while enjoying a Jeremiah Red at BJs Pizzeria and didn't know SVS's bomb came on a 3-0 count until much later. It didn't look like he got a real good swing on it, and it still cleared the fence easily. I'm looking forward to seeing him hit one half way up the pavillion, or father, in the future.

Also, the pitcher's reaction to his swing and bomb were great!

I was sitting along third base line more toward LF. I'm fairly good and recognizing what a ball is going to do off the bat after seeing so many over the years. I knew right away that SVS had a homer when he hit it. I still remember the ball silhouetted against the night sky. Awesome to see!

@Dusty - coming off the bat, it looked really good to me watching it on TV. I had been tricked the week before with Matty (twice) and Uribe so I held my breath for a moment but when I realized he pulled it a lot more than they did, I knew it was gone. Watching the replays and from other angles, it didn't look like a great homerun swing. His balance wasn't perfect (he was kind of on both feet instead of just his back foot) but he obviously had plenty of power to get it gone

^pardon me, front foot
