Jansen Named Closer
Just heard this on AM710. I feel bad for Javy Guerra, but I'm more concerned about keeping Kenley Jansen away from any Snuggies.

The downside of the specialized bullpen, right there.
Sure, everyone knows what they have to do, but it turns into a much harsher statement than it probably needs to be if someone hits a rough patch and gets booted out of their "slot"
:/ I like Javy. I hope he can bounce back and be productive, maybe close when Kenley has gone too many days in a row. Maybe with the pressure off, he can get back to shutting motherfuckers down
Shit happens. He'll be back.
I agree that Javy will be back, and I welcome it...but KJ deserves a shot here
They should just give the "closer" role to all the guys in the bullpen. Because really, we want them all to come in and get batters out without giving up runs.
I'm mostly with you, Quad, but Baseball seems to have collectively decided that this isn't to be.
On the other side of the argument, I can see how relief pitchers, as creatures of habit, benefit from the consistency.
I would like them to consistently get people out. Like a closer would.
