Chris Capuano (6-1, 2.25) vs. J.A. Happ (4-3, 4.56).
The Astros aren't making anything easy for the Dodgers — I think last night's game is still going on — but thanks to the combined talents of A.J. "#AJ2KC" Ellis and Tony Gwynn Jr. (above), the Dodgers are in a position to take this series as well as start another winning streak.
Standing in their way is former Phillie Happ, who has pitched well in his last two starts but hasn't gone past the sixth inning in any of his starts this year. Capuano is back to his winning ways, beating the Diamondbacks after suffering his only loss of the season, against the Padres.
The Dodgers are 8-4 without Matt Kemp, who returns in two games.

I can spell CHEST out of that. Not much else.
Dammit, Mattingly! We need more vowels!!
Capster vs Happster
Giants up 2-0 on the Fish in the fourth.
Rox down 5-1 to the Reds in the fourth.
Padres down 1-0 to the Mets in the third.
Anyone know what happened in last night's Dodger game?
BECAUSE TODAY'S LA TIMES DOESN'T HAVE THE RESULTS.
Print media is really working hard to kill itself.
What is this strange "print media" you speak of, Sax?
Am I so desperate for sports that I'm watching the Indy 500 now? Why, yes I am!
@Sax
That's why you have to read fine blogs such as this one in order to be up to date on the timeliest and most accurate of critical Dodgers news!
Want to make auto racing more exciting? Do away with caution flags. No stopping and no tears!
Also doing it without seat belts or helmets might be interesting.
Perhaps allow drivers to wield pistols.
More LA Times wackiness:
Online (hint: that's not print media), the headline and sub-head for last night's game is:
"A.J. Ellis delivers a Dodgers win with homer in ninth inning
His three-run home run ends a dramatic night with a 6-3 victory over the Houston Astros that snaps a three-game losing streak."
Uh, incorrect. Even we got that one right - we weren't on a three-game losing streak.
Yet in the body of the article, it says:
"The Dodgers (31-15) were the only team in Major League Baseball that hadn’t lost three consecutive games."
*sigh*
The LAT is leveraging Donald Sterling's copy editor.
And why was that last statement in past tense, LAT?
Headed to the cantina to watch now.
having a cadillac, Vinny!
Trying to get my kid to take a nap so I can watch you instead of Bob the Builder, Vinny!
Great. Altuve is going to hit for the cycle today.
Astros lead 1-0. Not exactly a shock.
I'm gonna be happy to see that itty bitty guy go.
Hey, anybody have iPad app recommendations? We got a hand-me-down first gen from the in-laws.
What kind of apps, Nomo? What genre(s)?
Vin says the deuces are up there.
The other night I was listening on the radio on the way home, Vin named about 12 deuces that were "wild" on a particular pitch. It was poetry and beauty and science all at once.
Dammit.
I want to see Cap throw at some mother fuckers.
I just committed a beer foul. Took a clumsy swig of Fat Tire and the bottle started overflowing.
DelinOs here with sosg superfan todd. Field level row a, meaning im on the ready to protect the mini deshields...or todd... from a laser foul.
In fact, I myself want to start throwing at some mother fuckers.
Note to Todd: don't use DeLino as your main line of foul ball defense.
Treanor singles. Eric Stephen must be happy.
Vin made a reference to Franklin Stubbs last inning.
@DB: Whatever little under-the-radar gems you might have discovered, regardless of genre.
epale everyone!
Cap not helping his own cause.
Epale, Commish!
TGJ RBI! 1-1!
Donnie pulls off the double steal! Of course it helps to have Gordon and Gwynn as the runners.
@Orel :DDDDDDDDDDD
Six hits to one and we're tied? That's some bad luck.
didn't he hit a HR last time he played too?
Treanor killed this thread.
@Nomo everyone's in shock
Jaime Jarrin said "Rancho Ardiendo"
Walking Loney to get to Abreu did not work out.
Houston will be using it's entire bullpen this inning, I suppose.
Bob Abreu has had 67 at bats with the Dodgers, he's reached base 30 times, source @efrainruizp
8-hole Dee is awesome.
TGJ? Super-clutch.
WE MAKE PARTY!
that was a quick 9th inning for the Astros :D
woot!
woop! Great work today, Cap!
Seems like Kemp is ready, 2-2 with a HR and 3 RBI.
And Rivera has one too
Tardy PGT up!
