Two Out Of Three Yahoo! Sports Pundits Pick Rox To Win NL West

But we got the sole dissenting vote! Thank you, Alex Remington, for your steely disposition (and incredibly close shave, I might add)!

Kevin Kaduk's World Series prediction: Yankees over Rockies in five
NLDS: Phillies over Cardinals, Rockies over Braves
NLCS: Rockies over Phillies
ALDS: Yankees over Twins; Red Sox over Angels
ALCS: Yankees over Red Sox

David Brown's World Series prediction: Phillies over Rays in seven.
NLDS: Phillies over Cardinals; Braves over Rockies
NLCS: Phillies over Braves
ALDS: Rays over Angels; Red Sox over Twins
ALCS: Rays over Red Sox

Alex Remington's World Series prediction: Red Sox over Braves in six
NLDS: Braves over Dodgers, Cardinals over Phillies
NLCS: Braves over Cardinals
ALDS: Red Sox over Twins, Yankees over Angels
ALCS: Red Sox over Yankees

And that's it? NL West title, then dispatched by our historic two-division rival, the Braves? Ugh.

Right now I'm going to predict that we will not start the season 7-0.

I'm predicting that DB is right.

I'm predicting that rbnlaw is right.

I predict that guy who picked the Dodgers is not related to Remington Steele.

Why is there a time delay on SOSG? The comments seem to be in a different dimension.

Dusty Baker said...

A second ago there were no comments showing for this post yet there were several reflected in the recent comments sidebar.

This is seriously undermining the masterful insight I have posted.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

Dusty's most recent comment isn't even appearing in the sidebar.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

Uuuhp, now it's showing up.

Dusty Baker said...

All due respect to FB, but the refs are tilting Duke midway thru 2nd half.

Nic j said...

whats worse, the way the dodgers played today or the fact that i taped it and am currently watching it.

Nic j said...

Sweet were up 2-0 first inning runs!!

Dusty Baker said...

@ NicJ

I'm right with you, brother. It's not weird. Masochistic, but not weird.

Nic j said...

Crap!! Padilla!! man he knew that thing was gone on contact.

BTW Collettis pregame comments about our pitching being better than people think is quite funny in hindsight.

Nic j said...

eric collins looks like such a freakin dork.

Nic j said...

so thats wins for two Dukes today, huh?

Orel said...

Score one for privilege!

Mr. Customer said...

Nic and Dusty, you poor bastards, why are ya doing this to yourselves.

Paul said...

I can't believe Zoubec didn't get called for a foul against Howard he practically "Huggins" him.

Steve Sax said...

Dudes, I've got this on my DVR, but I ain't watching this debacle later. A spanking from the lowest-payrolled team in the league, called by Eric "Curse" Collins? I'd rather have the sharp sticks in the eyes.

And I hate Duke. Happy fourth title, you of tobacco money and overhyped academic intellect.

Nic j said...

Now Gretzkys at the Angel game!!! this day cant get any worse.

BTW why the hell is he wearing a scarf? Its Socal and he is from Canada.

Paul said...

Why do they have to show Jennifer Hudson during one shinning moment? I want the old school version back. They probably didnt show that guy cause he was naked when he sang it.

Mr. Customer said...

I'd like to think of todays events as the sports equivalent of a bris.

At least our bouncing baby baseball season is too young to remember much of it later.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

If the season's a bris, does that mean Garrett Jones is the mohel?

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

*season opener

Mr. Customer said...

Not only a Mohel, but one that needed a second cut, just to be safe.

Nic j said...

back to back HR's for the angels. man its like a little rain cloud is following me around today.

Paul said...

On the directv MLB mix it looks like the angels are playing Texas. Don't ask me why I am watching the mix since the Angels are the last game on.

Nic j said...

i cant believe i watched the whole thing.

i need a shower.

Steve Sax said...

Nic J, the Pirates needed a cigarette.

Nic j said...

even after smoking the dodgers pitching all day?

Dusty Baker said...

As tortuous as it was, watching it game me a new appreciation for just how bad Padilla looked that GameDay and audio feed jsut couldn't do justice to. This guy did not look to get anybody out; he was totally out of sorts.

One of worst sports days in a long time: Dodgers Opening Day humiliating loss; Angels win; Duke wins; and Gretzky is a wuss.

Thankfully I can still draw on the strength of Chelsea's victory on the weekend.

go Devils

Mr. Customer said...

@FB

"Go Devils"

I hope you mean the Jersey side, not Merseyside.

Fred's Brim said...

@Mr C, a little of the former, more of the latter

Mr. Customer said...

Oh,dear...

Fred's Brim said...

yep, sorry

Alexander said...

It's true, I'm not related to Remington Steele. I am related to Frederic Remington, though.

Thanks for reading!

Mr. Customer said...

@fb/dusty/rbnlaw

There's a sitcom premise somewhere here. 4 guys who are fans of the same team during 1 season, but support bitter rivals during another. Hillarity ensues.

Fred's Brim said...

what are the other teams? Duke basketball, Dallas Cowboys, Notre Dame football, Celtics/Lakers, FC Dallas?

Mr. Customer said...

FB

Just thinking EPL.

DB=Chelsea
Rbnlaw=Arsenal
Mr. C=LFC

And then there's FB...

Fred's Brim said...

FB: "How can you like a sport where they don't even use their hands? Well except for that Russian looking guy in the funny shirt at the end of the field. Is that even allowed?"

Everybody else: "Oh Fred, what are we going to do with you?"
*cue comedy trombone sound*

Mr. Customer said...

*snaps fingers*

Oh! Not those Devils, these Devils!
I assumed incorrectly based on your comment being preceded by Dusty's Chelsea propaganda. Shows where my priorities lie.

Fred's Brim said...

and I was confused by the Merseyside comment - shows how much a Duke education is really worth

and I don't like ManU much at all, but I did go to a Liga de Quito game in Ecuador last week. That was quite an experience

Dusty Baker said...

Heh...just noted your comment re Chelsea propaganda. Call me Pravda.

Mr. Customer said...

@dusty

All in good fun;) I'm just glad I don't have to hold being a Dukie AND a United apologist against FB.

And here I thought I was being clever with my Jersey/Mersey wordplay when I was just being abstruse.

Fred's Brim said...

it was clever, Mr C, but your audience may not have been the right one (although I get it now)
