Randy Wolf (3-3, 3.49) vs. Livan Hernandez (5-4, 4.56).
COMMENTS: Okay, so maybe, like Rafael Furcal, Mr. Met swings both ways. The same could be said of the Mets themselves, disappearing Tuesday then reappearing yesterday to take Hiroki Kuroda behind the woodshed.
Which Mets team will show up today? Impossible to know, and further complicating matters is Wolf, a Mets killer who also attracts no-decisions like burrs to pets. The enigmatic Hernandez has lost his last three starts but pitched well against the Dodgers in May.
So I'm as unsure about today's game as I was sure the Dodgers would win yesterday, which means...huh? Where was I? Oh yeah, Mr. Met sure gets a lot of action. That dog.

I wish they would play this verse of the song at the stadium:
"where I ran off, 'cause I got mad, and it came to blows with my old man."
Family friendly!
Should have cheated.
I do not care for your subtle mocking, Josh.
Another inning pitched out of Wolf. Nice.
Erin, in the case of a Dodgers/Red Sox World Series, what team would you root for? both? one of them?
"Once again, I'm starting to get my fears of a Dodgers/Red Sox World Series."
Isn't that also a dream come true of sorts?
The Dodgers of course....
I hope.
I thought at first it would be a dream come true, but it's impossible to root for both teams when they play against one another. I don't know the answer right now as to what I would do, but I've actually been thinking about writing a blog post about this.
Hudson is going to have a nice bruise from that. Crap.
Damn. Dead leg.
C'mon, O-Dog. You can get through it.
I've been a Red Sox fan my entire life, and a Dodgers fan for four seasons. So, the correct answer may seem obvious, but I just don't know.
Well, Castro will take O-Dog's place.
Steve Lyons says no one has come up with a "better way" to decide home field advantage in the WS.
Um, how about the best record?
How about the team who hasn't won one in a while. I'm only 24. I grew up through fox ownership, so I'm loving this.
I found my copy of SI: Baseball Preview. They predicted the Mets would win the World Series. Right now I think their sights are set on finishing above .500
Yeah, there are a lot of factors to consider. I'm certainly not rooting against both teams making it. I know Christine will be in Dodger Blue no matter what, even though she's loved the Red Sox right along with me for the last five years.
I'm glad Torre left Wolf in the game.
If it were best record people would complain that you play in a worse division.
Yeah, but at least it would be based on the way you played and not on the way representatives from your league played.
I'm not saying it's necessarily the best way, but it's better than letting the All-Star Game decide.
There really is no fair way to determine it. What about a one game playoff at a nuetral site. Haha
Nic, the "NL West stinks, that's why the Dodgers are doing so well" argument is dying. Mainly because the NL West has done so well against the other divisions, and is the only one in the NL with three teams above .500
What's up with Ethier and those terrible at-bats?
Yeah I know. But people will still use it. It's going to take a couple more years of the west being succesful to shake that stigma.
Re: Every team in the "far superior NL East" has a losing record against the West.
The only team with a winning record against the West outside the division is Houston.
Leaving Wolf in was clearly a smart move.
"The only team with a winning record against the West outside the division is Houston."
Not Philly?
Yeah I saw somewhere earlier that the NL west has the 2nd best record while playing out of the division.
The AL east is first, of course.
Phillies are 9-7 against the West.
And Houston is 16-7. Everyone else has a losing record.
My bad. Still, that's not a record to flaunt.
J-Mac gets to tell his buddies he struck out Gary Sheffield.
Nice to see the "old" James McDonald back!
"I know Christine will be in Dodger Blue no matter what, even though she's loved the Red Sox right along with me for the last five years."
Yay Christine!
Nothing like an angry, sweaty ump!
The Sheff has left the kitchen
Loney double!
I don't like the ASG deciding home field advantage either, but I came up with this idea the other day:
If the same league wins both the home run derby AND the ASG, then they get home field. If they split, then home field goes to the best record.
Rancho Ardiendo for Castro. It's nice Martin still gets respect.
That's what happens when you mess with Castro.
Sweet! Dodgers 10-Mets 2
Never count out Juan Castro with a six-run lead.
Do you think it's safe for me to go for a run now?
VOTE BISON, DAMN YOU
All right, that eleventh run made me more comfortable. I'm heading out before it gets dark.
Just 3 more outs to go.
Citifield looks empty. This game has been delightful, after the excuse of the game we had to endure yesterday.
This almost makes up for yesterday.
Vargas sighting!
See, they Took No Prisoners and cruise to victory.
TNP is the new motto.
Mr. LASF: Wasn't mocking. I thought it was a requirement to say dammit if you miss 200.
Citi Field is already empty.
Post-Game Thread is up!
Dodgers won! Go Blue!
