Post-Game 84 Thread: What Do the Dodgers and e.e. cummings Have in Common?

They both failed to capitalize!

METS 5, DODGERS 4

With the erratic Oliver Perez on the mound, this figured to be an eminently winnable game for the Dodgers, but they just nibbled and didn't bite. The Dodgers received nine walks from the Mets but...

  • 1st inning: Left men on first and third.
  • 2nd inning: Left Matt Kemp at second.
  • 3rd inning: Left bases loaded.
  • 5th inning: Left men on first and second.
  • 6th inning: Left men on first and third.
  • 7th inning: Left Russell Martin on first.
  • 9th inning: Left Blake at second.
  • total: 12 men left on base

Hiroki Kuroda: 4 1/3 IP, 4R, 3 ER, 1K, 91 pitches.
Vote for Matt Kemp: 3-for-3, including a triple.
Manny Ramirez: 9th-inning home run off Francisco Rodriguez. The Dodgers have lost both post-suspension games in which Manny has homered.

Hudson and Ethier go 0 for 10. These two still can't find a bit of offense. Dre needs to sit.

I'm just shocked MLB.com would use that kind of language in a headline.

I think I've voted for Matt Kemp 500 times.

PC, I think Sandoval is eating Kemp's votes as fast as you're registering them

its a little unfair that this voting was during a homestand for SF, PHI, and AZ. They have the benefit of an in stadium campaign, while the dodgers have been on the road the entire time. I really think that is affecting the voting.

PS, who is going to take beltrans spot in the allstar lineup, wasnt he voted in?

This one wasn't as fun as the first

Lots of Dodger fans in the upper deck with us and they got relatively loud in the 8th after Vote For's triple and again in the ninth after the homer and the walk to Casey. The drunken tramps from Staten Island screaming at them were entertaining, but sending them back to Shaolin with a comeback win would have been so much better

The two big plays for me were Casey starting the DP before he caught the ball in the third and then Orlando's K with Vote For on third in the 6th. Those seemed particularly painful after Manny's homer. That was a 2-3 run difference

One more to win the series. I hope we can execute better and that Randy throws good strikes tonight

Sorry I couldn't join in the fun of the GT yesterday (son's basketball practice), but happy I could start the Roger Lodge bashing and pile on. I heard his comments on his live segment during the channel 5 morning news. There's a fair amount of hate for him from the anchors there as well.

I made the mistake of evoking the name of Douche Mode in my post and the jerk-off goes yard 3 times vs. the Angels. I apologize to the Angels, but blame the now-washed-up Ervin Santana for throwing batting practice to Douche Mode and making Frank Mc Court look even worse for paying this guy not to play in LA.

Oh, cruel irony.
