It was a game until the seventh inning, when the Cardinals took advantage of the Dodger bullpen and a Casey Blake error to score four runs and put it away. Again, two-out madness prevailed, with the Cards scoring five of their six runs with two out. The Dodger offense was doing everything out of order, with 11 hits (same as the Cards), 11 left on base and four double plays. If a few balls fall instead of getting run down by Ryan Ludwick, this could have been a very different game. But that's baseball.

I had to listen to the hell that was the bottom of the 7th while watching my son's basketball practice.
Baseball is a funny game and things can change quickly. As I have said before, better to hit these rough patches now than in September/October. We're going to need that starter, soon. Oh, and cross Carl Pavano off the list.
Not that Pavano was on anyone's list, but he gave up back to back to back homers today vs. the Angels. Don't look now, the Angels are less than 3 games back for the best record in baseball.
I have a feeling we're going to be saying "don't look now" a lot in the second half.
with the allstar game deciding the HFA for the WS best record in the league really doesn't mean anything other than bragging rights. Im fine with best in the NL.

Don't look now, but Orel's becoming more rational. Most likely because he replaced Joe Morgan yesterday. The universe is temporarily balanced out, with rationality spreading. The question is, how long until Morgan returns?

i take the blame for this rough patch. I am in the process of moving. I know I shouldn't be making radical changes like this, especially when things are going so well. i hope we can both settle in and get back to winning soon.
