The Dodgers announced today that yesterday's dramatic Manny Ramirez pinch-hit grand slam will become the subject for the Dodgers Collector's Edition Poster #3 giveaway, set for August 5:
The individually numbered posters will be given away to the first 20,000 fans attending the game against Milwaukee on Aug. 5.
Ramirez's slam propelled the Dodgers to a 6-2 victory over Cincinnati on Wednesday night, their 12th consecutive home win against the Reds. It was the 21st of Ramirez's career, leaving him trailing Gehrig.
The poster is the third in a series depicting great moments at Dodger Stadium this season. The first featured Orlando Hudson hitting for the cycle on opening day, and the second one depicted the Dodgers' nine walk-off victories in the first half.LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers are producing a poster with artwork depicting Manny Ramirez's pinch-hit grand slam that moved him within two of tying Lou Gehrig's career record.
I know how I still can't help smiling when I walk past Steve Finley's 2004 bat flip photo after his walk-off grand slam beat the Giants and earned the Dodgers a playoff berth. I'm sure I'll feel the same about Manny Ramirez' incredible feat for years to come. And I'm so glad I saw it as it played out (on television, but still; just look at what happened to Orel).
photo: Alex Gallardo / Los Angeles Times. I am not insinuating that this is necessarily the photo that will be used on the poster. But I'd still be there as one of the first 20K to find out.

It's been a day and I've still got goosebumps. I'm so glad I was there.
Do you have the Finley slam picture up in your house?
True Blue LA christens it The BobbleSlam as well.
I kept thinking about it all day, and just couldn't help but laughing out loud. Laughing because you just couldn't draw it up any better, after this season of ManDrama. All you can do is chuckle and shake your head.
i didnt go to the game last night, but i'm getting this poster
Poster is for first 20,000. Game is on a Wednesday. Guess I'll have to take the afternoon off to make sure I am one of 20k.
I don't think they limited the "Comeback Kids" poster. I have 3 and we got there right before the first pitch. Also, I don't think this poster will become a paper airplane like the last poster they gave away.
Definitely announced that they were limiting this poster giveaway. Maybe it's to try to drive ticket sales. Not that that would ever be a motivating factor for a baseball front office.
