HIroki Kuroda (3-4, 3.91) vs. Oliver Perez (1-2, 9.97).
COMMENTS: The Mets have not scored in their last 22 innings, they don't have an extra base hit in their last 29 innings, and they're running out there a pitcher who is returning from the DL with an ERA that just barely slips under the double-digit level. But don't come crying to me, Mr. Disproportionately Large Baseball Head Guy. We've got enough things to worry about on our own.
Like how Manny Ramirez' impressive 3-RBI night was covered by the national media as "Manny booed, ejected" and "Ramirez ejected after called third strike" (seriously, read that article, and tell me that it wasn't written with a predisposed lynching in mind). Or how Matt Kemp is getting eclipsed in the All-Star Game Final Vote by a 500-pound tub of lard (among others). Or how Hiroki Kuroda has spent most of the year on the DL as well, and is still getting his sea legs back.
Yeah, spare me the tears, Mets fans. It's not like your payroll is $35M more than our payroll. Oh wait, it is.

Strike three was ball four, but i'll take it.
Ball four was strike two...
Work the count, All Star!
lead off walk, PH. Now we are in business.
Vote Bison
Charley just ducked put, in kemp's at bat!
Don't mess with the World Cup!
I think the Dodgers Radio Network is having some technical difficulties.
Eight walks and they're still down by 3?
Vote Bison!
Dammit, DeWitt.
Yay for Raffy
Can Sandoval run like that? i don't think so.
Crapola
I'm not ready to say that Orlando is out of his slump.
I'm sure they'll walk Manny here.
This is becoming increasingly frustrating. I have an inkling that was the last opportunity.
UGH. This is going to be an embarrassing loss. Perez can't find the plate, the Dodgers get eight walks, and they still only manage two runs.
At least we are not losing by 20. Can't win them all.
Nic, are you high?
no, just tired of being negative. Trying something diferent. Its only one game. Im not going to get an ulcer over a potential 4-1 record to the mets this year.
Well I am.
To each his own.
(Or Her own, Karina and Erin.)
Vote Bison
It ain't over 'till it's over.
Where's the crappy Mets defense tonight?
thats not really good defense, thats just slow baserunning.
Loretta's slower than...something that's very slow.
Maybe it was a little bit of luck
Slower than a Panda?
Charlie Steiner is orgasming over that play.
Positive side: Martin hit a single.
hey look at that, russ went the other way with it.
I've had enough of this game. I'm gonna have my dinner now.
hmmm, andre was quite useless tonight.
manny wowed himself there.
They'll score 4 runs next inning.
Church misplayed that
Kemp perfect on the night
That's how an All Star performs like.
Kemp: Linebacker size, cornerback speed!
Vote Bison, damn you!
Way to be, Juan. Thanks for the productive out. And swinging at the first pitch, no less.
If I vote anymore, my fingers will fall off
Slappy McPop has not garnered that nickname for nothing.
5-3 Mets
two run game.
Son of a bitch. The Flyin' Hawaiin got the game-winning RBI for the Phils.
ive had to have voted at least 300 times, that ten-key course in highschool paid off, i guess.
Damn that Victorino
Manny will own K-Rod. Book it.
and manny comes up with nobody on again next inning.
Tron.
I know, Nic. He'll light the fire.
Manny 3 for 10 vs KRod
Tron can't find the strike zone
Well, it worked for Perez
The Dodgers have some work to do.
Leave it for Matt Kemp to get the game-winning hit.
HE HIT IT OUT!
HOMERUN!
you were right karina!!!
Excellent call, Karina.
I told you so!
Homerun the other way!
This is winnable...
You called it!
I believe Mr. K-Rod is flustered.
All hail Karina!
Manny even made Torre clap!
4 pitch walk
Maybe K-Rod is rusty.
That right-field wall works not only to pull-hitters but to opposite way hitters too.
Beard works a walk. That's his fourth.
King James should pinch hit for Loretta
Manny shook KRod up!
Winning run at the plate. That's all you can ask for after a rotten game like this.
Loretta fooled on that one.
I cry for Mark, I cry for Mark, I cry for Mark.
Ugh. Not a good at-bat from Loretta.
Those were pretty untouchable.
I don't understand Loretta's place in the batting order today.
Almost makes you wish your hottest hitter wasn't in the 8 hole...hmmm.
So, does Martin pull it to third or does he take it the opposite way and ground out to shortstop?
Martin keeps things interesting.
WHAT?!!?
Basehit Martin!
J-Mart single!
Martin says take that, Erin!
Now's the time Andre!
I don't know about this, but I guess this is when Ethier likes to hit.
Great discipline by Ethier.
Did Lyons really suggest PHing Loney for Ethier...oh my head.
Bad time to belly-flop, Beard.
Ethier will just have to go for a game-winning hit, not a walkoff.
Ethier is really struggling.
Is that interference?
COra blanketing the Beard
300
damn.
Bartolo Colon is still missing. I hope he's all right.
Now the "damn" is on the other foot.
It seems like interference. But Blake wasn't exactly trying to get up there.
And, to be fair, Martin did pull the ball. He just managed to get it off the ground.
Whoops!
I think if Blake even feigns to get up he may get the call.
UGH!
I wouldn't have been against Loney coming up there. Ethier is not hitting the ball.
Ethier: ICE COLD
yeah, i wasnt getting too excited. Thats how frankie pitches.
Game Ending Double Play
I really, really hate Rodriguez. Always have. And today I have an extra special reason.
Erin, Loney could not have gone up there, unless you want him to play right-field in the bottom of the inning.
Missed Kemp again by that much
Put Loney in and move Loretta to right field. I don't care. I want my best hitter up in the situation, and then we'll see what happens later. As it was, we had an ice-cold hitter up there and he did exactly the worst thing he could have done in the situation. And now NO ONE is playing right field in the bottom of the inning.
i hope Dre sits tomorrow, he is really struggling.
Ethier: Life the fucking ball out of the g.d. infield for the last time. I don't care if you fly out, at least I won't feel so unrequited from your game-ending double play nibbler.
"Lift"
i wouldnt want to risk loretta hurting himself in right. One game isnt worth losing a good bench player to an injury.
I don't know. I think we could deal with losing a bench player with an OPS+ of 72. I'd take the risk. But I also would do anything to keep K-Rod from yelling at god at the end of a game.
I was certainly yelling at god at the end of the game, and not in a good way.
PGT up.
