Post-Game 1 Thread: Matt Kemp Feelin' Toolsy

6th inning: Kemp's diving catch helps prevent the Padres from scoring.

7th inning: Kemp hits a solo HR off Jake Peavy.

DODGERS 4, PADRES 1

Dodgers beat Peavy for the second time. Ever.

UPDATE 2a: ESPN dubbed Kemp's diving catch their #2 web gem of the day [corresponding video removed since it's apparently no longer available to the server-space-starved network]. Of course, the headline on the MLB page link is all about David Wright (#3 web gem), and three of the five gems are from the Mets / Reds game. Hooray, east coast bias!

The picture of Kemp fielding looks like a cool, artsy painting.

The catcher is looking down - he already knows it is out.

What is up with the "PT Dodgers" in the upper right corner? Any relation to the PT Cruiser?

1) Boy, these ESPN highlights are much more annoying having to watch a guy in a suit yabbering at me for the first 40 seconds.

2) Back to said highlight: Are my eyes deceiving me, or is that a 51-mph pitch that Kemp decides to stroke for a HR? Even I could hit a pitch that slow (though admittedly, not quite that far).

Upon second review, I suppose it may be 91 MPH.

Gameday's pitch-by-pitch recap agrees.
