West Coast Avengers (later called Avengers West Coast) was always a bastard stepchild of the main Marvel superteam, and it showed. Any team that has 40% of its roster as Tigra and Mockingbird, weak supporting characters at best, was dubious; add in Hawkeye's tempermental "leadership" and you're bound for failure. Al Milgrom was never much of an artist, either.

With the exception of the John Byrne run from #42-57, which included some solid Scarlet Witch / rebuilt Vision character development, as well as the return of the old Human Torch (from the Invaders era), it wasn't a good use of 102 issues.

Oh yeah, and too bad about that Arena Football team. It was always a fun use of the Staples Center to see the amusement park-like field in person; I think if they had added a couple of trapezes and rings of fire, they would have had something here.

Oh yeah, and there is that other NBA team that LA still has. Not the Clippers. That other one.

Either team (Avengers WC or the AFL) could've seriously used Power Man and Iron Fist. After all, the duo even beat the '86 Bears 73-13 back in issue #125.

"JOEY" was the West Coast Avengers of sitcoms.

Matthew G, that is indeed an awesome find from the quarter bin. I'd ask you for a fist bump, but I'm afraid you're channeling the dragon Shau-Lao, so I'll refrain.

Neeebs, are you a numismatist?

Delino: All I can say is, "Whoa."
