Dee Gordon, Andre Ethier (three-run shot), and AJEllis (two-run shot) all went deep at Coors Field, stoking the Dodgers to a 7-0 lead to which they barely clung for the victory. Ted Lilly went 6.0 strong and only gave up a two-run HR to Carlos Gonzalez, and even though Josh Lindblom got taken to school (0.2 IP, 3 ER including a HR and two doubles), Scott Elbert got us out of the seventh inning without further damage.
Kenley Jansen gave up one run in the eighth after letting Troy Tulowitzki triple (he was sacrificed in by Todd Helton), opening the door for Snuggie-Cursed closer Javy Guerra to enter the game. Guerra gave up a one-out single, with that runner advancing to scoring position on a passed ball, and on to third on a grounder to MEllis. But with the tying run 90 feet away, Guerra turned an 2-0 count on Gonzalez into a swinging K on a nasty slider, preserving the Dodgers' victory.
Dodgers improve to 9-3 in one-run games. Consider the Snuggie Curse over!
